Prayer Answered

December 30, 2011

I was waking up this morning and praying about the radiation therapy – much controversy in the medical field about whether to support the body with antioxidants or to stop them all and just do radiation -  medical community split. I prayed and felt to take them. This AM was praying the radiation would only have therapeutic  effects. The old scripture chorus came to mind “when you pass through the fire you shall not be burned, and pass through the waters/floods they shall not overflow you, neither shall the flames kindle upon you for I the Lord am your God and you are mine…..”

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Isaiah 43:2
New King James Version (NKJV)

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

I felt that was His promise to me about the radiation – such encouragement!

Had a wonderful time today with former prayer partner from EHC - Carol and I walked, prayed, got caught up and had a lovely lunch at Red Lobster. I am not tired today and took antioxidants this AM - hope I can sleep but need to support my immune system even though the dietitian at the hospital says to stop all antioxidants. So much controversy in the medical community over this one and I am praying and choosing to go the other direction.

But Lord, I Just Don’t Have Time

But Lord, I Just Don’t Have Time

It is often said that we have time for those things we really want to do. Hum, that is sort of a grabber, isn’t it? We all have the same amount of time in a day. That’s 24 hours last time I checked. I know as I get older the clocks seem to be on “fast forward” and the calendar pages? I can see them flipping by. According to the atomic clock nothing has changed. We are not to grow weary in well doing. What does that mean? Spend your time where it will count for eternity. We do not have TV. We haven’t had one since we were married. If we did I have no idea how I would “have time” for anything. That is a topic for another article.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for Christian friends, the Body. Oh, Lord, I want to be So much closer to You and to love you with a pure heart, please help me in this new year? I need You so much! AMEN

My daughter, I do desire to speak to your heart. I know you so well, you are Mine. Time is short, My Body must see and weep, getting serious about sin and her Lord and His Lordship. I AM working in you. Make time, take time. Press in to know of Me and be strengthened. I Am coming soon to do battle with the enemy and he knows it. I shall protect you and keep you. Selah.

In Hosea 6:3 we are encouraged to acknowledge the Lord, to press on to acknowledge Him. Then we are told as surely as the sun rises he will appear, he will come to us like winter rains, like spring rains that water the earth. To us in drought stricken (for years and years) Colorado this is a refreshing and glorious promise.

In Philippians 3:12 we are encouraged to “press on” to take hold of that which Christ Jesus took hold of for me. The writer also mentions that he has not obtained this nor has he been made perfect. I think that is something we can all safely say. We need to run that race and not grow weary in “well doing”.

Are you spending time in God’s Word? I need to spend more time there myself but I know that’s where encouragement, promises and hope originate!

Philippians 3:14 speaks more about “press on” referring to the goal and winning the prize for which God has called the writer heavenward in Christ Jesus. I think that is key, recognizing our “heavenward” calling. We are to be focused on the eternal and what really matters 100 years from now. Souls, people and what they decided to do with the greatest gift ever offered them, salvation. But how can they decide if they haven’t been told. That’s where you and I come in, isn’t it?

The bottom line is that we do have time, 24 hours in each day. How we spend that time is up to us. May we choose to invest those hours most wisely as we say “maranatha”. The Lord Jesus will come quickly and we need to be about the Father’s business.

In Psalm 140:4 is a valiant prayer that I would echo along with the psalmist “Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence who plan to trip my feet.” Help us, oh, Lord to be salt and light as we go forth daily in those hours You have given each of us. AMEN

First Day of Radiation

Today was my first day of radiation - Mick dropped me off and then I remembered I left my supplements in the truck so had to call him back. Then they lost my chart and I waited and waited - they forgot me in the waiting room for 45 minutes. Had radiation and it was fast and easy so far. Then I saw the doc and dietitian who wants me off everything natural that is supposed to help the body fight cancer....then I had a blood draw that they got on the first try (my veins are terrible)

We finally got "lunch" at 3:30 and then came home. Day ONE of thirty.

Wow. prayers appreciated and could really feel them as it was only annoyance things going wrong.

Praising Jesus for His presence.

Our Bank Account Filled With Years

Our Bank Account Filled With Years
We seem to have a bank account
Filled up with our years
Each given just so many
Tallying joy and our tears

How do we use them
The choice is up to you
Filled with words you say
And actions that you do

With that in remembrance
Focusing in on today
Would you do things differently
As you walk along your way?

And then the Lord Jesus Christ whispered to my heart:
Child, your appetite should be after spiritual things.

Fix your eyes on Jesus, allow his strength to be yours. Time is short.
Come into subjection to the Son so you might shine forth with His joy most abundantly.

Seek not to do and be busy but seek your Lord who eagerly awaits communion with you "Come back/away my beloved." And I shall lift you above the darts and desert of dryness of your soul. Be refreshed in Jesus who lives in you. Selah.

Deuteronomy 4:29 encourages us that if from there (right where we are now) you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Remember back when you were five and focused in on that new bike? You thought about it when you got up in the early morning, dreamed about it at night and tried to save every penny you could. “Mom, do you have and extra chores you’d like me to do? I don’t charge very much at all to weed the garden….”

That shiny, red Schwinn became, well, almost an obsession, didn’t it? Morning, noon and night and you twinkled, and glowed and plotted and schemed on how you could bring it to be….. in your garage with you running out to ride it everywhere!

We still have capability for that childlike joy and fixation. Why not focus on Him who loves us most? Why not let Him be the object of our thoughts, passion, obsession, focus and time? Out of the abundance of our heart flows the mouth. Why couldn’t that flow be about the Lord Jesus Christ and sharing with others what He had done in our lives. Give friends and family the “before and after” picture. Oh, my what a difference forgiveness and the Savior makes!

Psalm 14:2 tells us that the Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men (daughters, he is watching us too) to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
Seeking God, what better person can we desire and look towards? He who created us, gave us our purpose, knew us BEFORE our mother’s womb, has plans for us still, desires relationship with us. Imagine that, the One who put the very stars in place wants a personal and intimate relationship with you! How can you ignore that thought for even another minute?

Psalm 63:1 David the psalmist is crying out with what can be our cry too “O God, you are my God, earnestly will I seek you, my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Here in Colorado about 11 of the past 12 years have been drought. Oh, how we can relate to that dry and thirsty land part and we can also seek Him with everything that is in us!
Prayer: Dear Lord, it is no wonder that David was a man after Your own heart. Please help us to have that seeking focus and not get distracted by externals. AMEN

Little Sheep

Little sheep, why are your eyes so sad?
Do you KNOW who the shepherd is?
Your frown is soul deep
It seems to fragment any peace you had
Has Jesus become a cardboard image
Pasted on the occluded windows of your mind
Please know that He still heals
Destroying sin, fear and enemy strongholds
While restoring sight to the blind

Little sheep, little sheep, you talk so dazed
Jesus within me weeps
And I find myself reaching out
Wanting to share with you His measureless love
Do you want to know the living Christ
Or has the enemy so weighed down your mind
That the wisdom of the world
Is all you register anymore?

How can I reach you
What can my lips say
To jolt you from your despondency?
Nothing of any import or effect
Except that which Christ in me
Speaks to you through His Spirit

Compassionately, Jesus, I pray to love this little sheep
With Your love
Without regard for personal end
Go before and prepare the way
Within me and your drifting child

Gentle shepherd, gentle shepherd
Will he turn again
And allow himself to be tended?

**Written during a time of ministering to a gentlemen who subsequently died of leukemia every day is a gift from God reach out and take hold of Jesus today**
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (NIV)

Cancer update

I guess the name of this game, especially during the holidays is be flexible and change will happen. I had my mammogram today and the doc read it right then. It was excellent with no new calcium deposits.I had the "dry run" in  radiology and they took x-rays. I met with an RN who answered questions and told me what to expect.

I now have my first radiation treatment on Tuesday because of the holidays.

My cold is better but cough still here and I began sneezing again today - praying it is not another cold. I am hardly ever sick.

There was 10 inches of new snow in Colorado Springs today and was I even glad Mick was driving. His work is slow right now but it is good to spend time with him.

Tika bopped the kitten (hard) on the head tonight and still is not accepting her so we will keep them seperated yet.

Heart Gifts

“Nooooo, go away, you can’t come in!” I implored my sister, Colette.

“How come? What’s the huge secret?” she asked.

“It is a secret and don’t you dare open my door!”

“Well, fine, I’ve got my own secrets too.” She replied walking across to her room, loudly closing the door.

“Hey you two, I need a little help out here.” Mom called from the kitchen.

I quickly stuffed the doll bed I was making into a drawer. I had used an oatmeal box cut in half lengthwise. Carefully lining it with left over material, I made a little mattress stuffed with cotton. I planned to use my best hanky for a little blanket. This was Christmas for my sister and Nancy, her favorite 8 inch tall Ginny doll.

Dad was an electrician. The TV was on the blink and had been sitting in the basement for months waiting for him to fix it. I personally thought he didn’t care much for TV. Well, the good thing was it gave us more time to be creative. This was good, because money was scarce.

I hurried to the kitchen to help mom. By now we were used to the orange crate cupboards. The house was new but we bought it before it was finished. My Dad worked on it evenings and weekends. We had orange crates, painted and with cute curtains instead of doors, for four years before he had the time and money to make real cabinets.

“Girls, would you like to put some of your allowance towards your dad’s gift? He’d love to get a Jacob’s chuck for his drill.” Mom mentioned to us.

Lately that was all Dad talked about. Looking back I realized it cost hardly anything but was something we girls could help buy and feel proud to present our dad on Christmas.

“Mom, do you still want to get that Electrolux vacuum, the hose on the old one cracked clear through yesterday, more dust went out than in.” I said, thinking how all she’d hinted about for months was that vacuum.

“Oh, I sure hope so.” She said with a twinkle in her eyes.

The doorbell rang, it was Mr Stopple from Stopple Feed and Seed bringing a huge box of delicious apples that Grandpa sent us for Christmas.

Grandpa always seemed pleased, as pleased as his stoic German self could emote, to get home canned goodies and baked goods from us each year. We had a big garden out back, though we lived in the city. Even Inky, the cat had a job to keep the birds off the raspberry bushes. Then we canned and freezer packed produce in the summer heat for weeks. I guess the watermelon pickles, green beans and beets were a gift of love to Grandpa.

In just a few more days it would be Christmas. Dad pulled us aside and swore us to secrecy. He showed us a little Electolux savings bank – it looked just like the vacuum mom wanted. He planned to wrap it…..

Christmas Eve came, Grandpa was there with us. He passed out little envelopes. Colette and I got five dollars each and that was a big deal back in the 1950s. Dad wouldn’t let us see what his contained. Mom showed us later that she got a fifty dollar check. Somehow after Christmas mom took my sis and me shopping. We got a pair of shoes, underwear, a sweater and a new dress! Wonder where her fifty dollars went?

It wasn’t until years later that we found out Grandpa gave Dad a check which covered the mortgage on our modest home for the year. I wonder how many hours of “lawyering” he had to do to earn that. He knew that the folks were paying off doctor bills from my sister’s polio and 9 months in the hospital.

It was Christmas Day! I grabbed the box Colette handed me.

“Colette! When did you do this?” Inside was a bracelet she had made. She used her favorite little heart she’d won at the fair. She made that, just for me and gave me the heart!

Dad gave mom the bank. She looked pretty disappointed when he told her she could save for her Electrolux.

Then he said, ”Ah, Ma, I have one more thing.” From the other room we heard a vacuum turn on.

You just wouldn’t believe the smile on mom’s face as she threw her arms around Dad hugging him close.

Is There Something I Can Say about My Publishers? RMS 1437 Publishers

Is There Something I Can Say about My Publishers?  RMS 1437 Publishers

I should tell you that I was first published at age 4, probably having nothing to do with my inherent talent but mostly to do with my excited mom. Having been published several times since then, I have learned that being published is mostly a lot of rejection notifications and an occasional, small check. Sometimes it is many promises and then the air being let out of the balloon. I have heard a similar story from many, many other writers. Ahhh, the collective tears of potential authors and writers.

This time, when I began writing again over 3 years ago, I prayed. Someone mentioned making all their pieces “free to share” instead of “for sale”. This resonated with me. God has given me so very much and what I wanted to do more than anything is share my incredible Lord with as many as I could to encourage, challenge and teach any who cared to read. I told Him I would not pursue being published and if I ever got a check for my writing it would be the “cherry on top”.

Over the years I developed relationships with website moderators, other writers and Christians around the world due to my writing efforts, some have been on line only, others have included phone calls and even meeting in person.

Not too long ago, two online writer friends mentioned they were feeling the Lord tugging at them to start a publishing  business. They come from different back grounds (accounting and respiratory therapy) but both have had a passion for writing and been involved in the editing, writing, graphics and computer end of that for years now.

I was a bit blown away when they said they were considering my devotionals for a published book. Yet, each time Mick and I spoke of my writing and possibly getting published it was always the devotional book first.
Mick and I prayed and the publishers prayed and our Lord began to work out the details.

I expected some grief. Many writers liken publishing a book to having a baby. I have heard horror stories about one getting published but with the editor changing the book so much they hardly recognized it as their own upon publication. This definitely is not true with RMS 1437 Publishers. They have given invaluable help but always asked me what I thought about the suggestion. We got the cover after only 2 tries. They were able to use one of my own photographs and the rest was expertly put into place by Ken McCreless, the graphics end of the team. Teresa Ortiz had a formatting suggestion which really helped to draw the reader into the devotional/Bible study in a much more personal way.

They both have come in before projected timelines. Their instructions to me about what they needed and when that was needed have been easy and well detailed.

I would strongly encourage anyone who has ever thought about publishing their work to pray and see if you get a green light from our Lord.  Next, to contact Teresa and Ken, chat with them, ask your best questions and get ready to realize maybe a life-long dream of having your book published.

How can you go wrong with someone whose mission statement is :
Mission Statement
RMS1437 is and will remain a source of strength and support for those literary warriors who seek to proclaim the name of Jesus through the written word.
They are there to help. This is not self-publishing although they offer that if that is what you’d like. RMS is a full service published from edition through marketing on your behalf.

You may contact them as follows:

I think the only regret I have is that we didn’t do this all sooner than we did!

My published book will be finished really soon. At first, they were thinking that things wouldn’t flow until after the first of the year. As of last week, we had the rough draft finished and out for endorsements and the cover completed.

Let me know your process if you decide to take the adventure of being published. I know you will be blessed as I have been.

Why Do We Resist Change

Why Do We Resist Change

Do we just love to move to a new place in church rather than sit in the same old area each and every Sunday? Hey, that’s my chair, what are those strangers doing sitting there? And the mental dialog goes on every time we are challenged to make a change in our routine. If we have great habits like spending time in the Word each morning or giving many minutes to intercessory prayer then maybe we shouldn’t change. However, there are probably many things in our lives which could use a heavenly overhaul, aren’t there? Then there are those times when the Lord is doing new stuff in us and through us and totally rearranging our lives. It is not always comfortable or comforting but it is always necessary or He wouldn’t be doing it.

Child, I AM doing many new things with, in and through you. Be not alarmed, confused or bewildered. I’m still going before you and preparing your ways. Fear not, but let ME be your focus. I AM shall and has overcome all the obstacles. Reach out as I lead. Draw close to Me so that the overflow shall splash and refresh (others). I love you and am “growing you up” in Me. Know that I AM God and I Am setting you free. It takes time, one step at a time. I cherish you and delight to be your husband. Selah.

In Isaiah 42:9 we are told about the former things having come to pass and new things I (the Lord) declare, before they “spring forth” I (the Lord) tell you of them.

Many changes are for the better. Can we trust our Lord Jesus with those changes?

In John 16:33 Jesus speaks of the promise that in Him we have peace. In the world we have tribulation but we are to be of good cheer as Jesus reminds us that He has overcome the world.

This looks like one of the promises we should print out, frame and hang on the wall where we will see it each and every day! HE is so able even when we are struggling or having doubts about ourselves or our situation.
In Acts 3:19 we are encouraged to repent and turn to God so that your sins may be “wiped out” that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

Not only can we be forgiven of our sins but we will also be refreshed. This is another promise worthy of framing and keeping front and center before our eyes always.

In Ephesians 4:15 we are encouraged to speak the truth in love and that we will in all things grow up in him who is the head, that is, Christ Jesus.

There is nothing wrong with speaking the truth if we can temper that with doing it in love. We need to speak the truth and are encouraged to do this, not in an angry voice or posture but in love, because we truly care for that person we are sharing it with.

I love the second part about “growing up”. The scripture doesn’t say maybe we will grow up it says we will grow up into Christ. Sometimes I have my doubts and get a bit discouraged but this scripture says it will happen. This is something to rejoice over!

Why can we believe and rest in the promises we have spoken about in this devotional? Because if we have asked Jesus to forgive us and take over our lives then what is spoken in Isaiah 54:5 is true ” For your Maker is your husband— the LORD Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. (NIV)”

He is more than able! He is in control if we allow that in our lives. Who better to call the shots than the one who picked all those special qualities of your person that make you uniquely “you”? What a relief to know that someone with more wisdom that you or me is in control of our lives and has a real plan for us!
Finally in Revelation 21:2 the Word speaks of coming events. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. (NIV)”

Prayer: Dear Jesus, we sense that You are coming again SOON. Please help Your Bride, this Bride to grow up and become more like You. Thank you for straightening out the “wiggles”, wrinkles and spots – we have a long way to go. You and I have made progress over the years. Thank You for Your patience and perseverance. Sometimes I wonder how you take time with me, but You always do. You, oh Lord, are beyond comprehension to my finite mind. Thanks for continued revelation and sharing of who You are. Words cannot express my overflowing heart to You!  AMEN

Show Stopping Sunset

Show Stopping Sunset

It was one of those exquisite moments that sent me running for my camera in hopes of catching and keeping the memory. The pixels didn’t do it justice but they did capture some of the most incredible view. The next day I was thanking the Lord for the “event” and I sensed Him whispering to my heart:

My Child, you see my hand in the sunset rose, orange and scarlet over and between the silhouetted mountains and trees, created there for you, put into place for your delight, drawing your eyes to Me.
Marvel not nor be surprised at what these hands can do, finishing touches to your day. I can. I do give blessing to you and my Body. I died and rose again to give you life, most abundant life.

This gave me so much to think about. Who or what is the Body of Christ? I know He is the “head” but what about the rest of the “body parts” that He wants to bless, even through the sun sets of our lives?

so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. (NKJV)

[ Sacrificial Service for Christ ] I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church…. (NKJV)

When we see God’s incredible handiwork in His creation hopefully our eyes are drawn to Him. My eyes and thoughts were that night last week. The colors, the contrasts, the beauty with the setting of the sun made me think of Him and His creativity, greatness, appreciation for color and wanting to add all of that and more to our lives.

Some who don’t know Jesus Christ as Lord say things like “it must be so boring to be a Christian….” Oh, how wrong they are because they have no inkling of the truth. When I was into things like my professing atheism, partying, drinking, drugs and shallow relationships I was almost always b-o-r-e-d. I have been revolutionized and set free by Jesus Christ, the Creator of the Universe. This is my 37th year of walking with Him. BORED? Not hardly. I could use many words to describe my life and bored would not be on that list.

Abundant life doesn’t include being bored. Satan wished nothing for our good and all for our destruction. What about God?

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)

His promises are true. His love is real. He is oh, so faithful even when we mess up. I know this in most practical ways and in artistic ways also, Yesterday I saw His hand painted sunset. He is always touching my heart and life, I praise Him.

Would you look His way? Would you give in and give up and lift your hands in surrender to Jesus who put the very stars in place? My prayer is that all could know His goodness, forgiveness and beauty, that all could be set free and drawn close to Him. Today that could be your choice: to become a child of the most-high God. I pray it is your day with Him.

My Book ! Morning Whispers from the Heart of God

Morning Whispers from the Heart of God

I got the rough draft of my book this morning and have sent it out to those who said they might be able to give me an endorsement!

My eyes are moist to see the lay out and how far this has come from my little spiral notebooks scribbled out over the years from God's heart to mine and then mine back to Him again. AND when I see what Ken and Teresa have done with it in editing and layout, making this dream come true for all involved.

This all began around 34 years ago when I started to journal and proposed to write to the Lord each morning. Our Lord Jesus took it from there across the miles and over the years.

Will keep you updated on the progress. It will be available on Barnes and Nobel, Amazon, Kindle and RMS publishing just to name a few - hard copy book and online also.

What a Christmas gift to me and I pray it will touch lives and be a blessing to many, many - the Word of the  Lord doesn't return void.

Yours with great excitement and expectancy,

Radiologist and Getting Started

I have been waiting and waiting to go in for my radiologist work up and the schedule for starting my breast cancer radiation treatments. Today was the day. The road reports didn't look bad and Mick and I decided that I could drive in myself rather than going in with him. That was until he had already driven in. He called and the roads were some of the worst he has seen in our 19 winters in Colorado. I can't tell you how let down I was to have to cancel three appointments today. Right now I am waiting for the radiologist gal to call and reschedule.

SO I will not be finding out my schedule or seeing the radiologist today, I won't be having my CT scan so they can set up my radiation treatment plan, nor will I be seeing my massage therapist who keeps me up and running. My knotted shoulders will keep for another day. My shaggy mane will be shaggy looking until the roads and weather cooperate and I can go into Colorado Springs getting a hair cut on another day.

Yesterday, we were running around in shirt sleeves. This is what  love about Colorado, most of the time.  The weather forecasters around here are wrong 55% of the time, you'd think I would have that figured out by now.

I don't usually get bummed out very easily. Today I am bummed.

Thoughts on Walking in Arrogance, Away from God, Please God, I Can Do It MYSELF!

Thoughts on Walking in Arrogance, Away from God, Please God, I Can Do It MYSELF!

We have so many choices in our lives.

We ARE in control.

One can choose to be angry or forgiving.

One can choose to walk in their flesh or in the Holy Spirit.

[ Free from Indwelling Sin ] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

One can choose pride (which got satan kicked out) or to walk in humility.

When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.
The choice is ours on being rebellious or submitting to our most loving Heavenly Father.

[ Humility Cures Worldliness ] Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Picking repentance (turning away from and leaving things which break God’s heart) is our option.

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

Since unforgiveness can lead to anger and depression, why would we pick not to forgive?  Bitterness ruins us physically, mentally and spiritually AND breaks the heart of Him who died to set us free.

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
Being angry at myself is wrong and a waste of emotions and adrenalin.  If we made a bad choice we can make a good one, by an act of our will forgive ourselves as we ask God’s forgiveness.

Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.

Our life is not dictated by our emotions. Our emotions are designed to make our life richer and to serve us, not the other way around.

Our emotions follow out thoughts and what we dwell upon. Our thoughts are the engine and the emotions are the cars which come after the engine, picture a train in your mind’s eye.

Soaking in the Word renews our minds. Dwelling on problems, hurts, indignities, slights, makes them bigger than life and this is not the solution. Pray for those who despitefully use us is what the scripture indicates and forgive them.

We can be an over comer in whatever circumstances – abounding or being abased.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”Get your hands off the cotton picking steering wheel and let Him drive!

If your life is a mess isn’t it time to truly surrender to One who is able, the Lord Jesus Christ?

Are you trying to sabotage yourself? You have punished yourself enough, surrender and let Jesus be responsible for you, eh?

Rebellion “ain’t pretty” or healthy or useful or productive or Godly or fruitful unless you want to harvest a terrible crop.

An evil man seeks only rebellion; Therefore a cruel messenger will be sent against him.

Why walk so close to the edge you might fall over into the abyss?

Why do things and make choices that give the minions of hell footholds and legal rights to your life?

The enemy has used you long enough – surrender to Jesus.

The enemy lies, so why listen? And he accuses, steals, robs and kills, why would you give him the time of day or listen to him?

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Dear Lord Jesus we surrender our hearts and lives to you. We ask you to be Lord of our lives. Forgive us for doing things and making choices which have broken your heart. Teach us to walk in the path of your footsteps and honor you we pray in Jesus name. AMEN

Were the first raindrops
Your holy tears of sadness
For an unrepenting world?

The eight righteous ones You spared
Cradled in the palm of Your ark
As You wept
For forty days and forty nights

And even today
The living seas and oceans

Don’t You Just Love “Change”?

Elk-y neighbors....

I think we all resist “change”. Our routine is messed up, the equipment is different and we have to think through the process before using it, it can slow us down….
Even something little like new syringes at the doctor’s office where I worked, at first I really didn’t like them. You had to recap them differently, they were marked a new way, even the plastic wrap was “different”. Soon I realized how much better they were than the old ones we had been using but it was a process. Don’t rock the boat, don’t upset the status quo.

However, if we never changed or were open to “new things” we’d stagnate and not grow a bit, would we?
The Lord was speaking gently to me about this awhile back:

Child, openness is the first step to change. See my ways; desiring to walk in them and a yieldedness of heart are your half the battle, strengthening you to persevere is my half. You shall overcome if your will/willingness is open handed and raised up to Me.

Praise Me in revelation of your “failures”, from looking/seeing comes releasing up and from there begins real release/repentance. If that fails to work, then and only then might the push become harder. Let go. Turn loose to Me! There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. That is part of your authority over the enemy. Use it.

Romans 8:1-17 NLT
Life in the Spirit
1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. 3 The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. 4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) 10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life[d] because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Prayer: Dearest Jesus, thank you for your chastisement that wraps around me with your HOPE. You are so full and good and deep. Thank you for my “failures” that might not seem so to you but places where I can learn and grow… scraped knees and all. Oh, Jesus, I can’t begin to know how to put into words “thank you that you came….” As a human, a burping baby, so that you might totally identify with us yet be The Sinless Sacrifice. Oh, Lord, I cannot even begin to grasp what that cost You, on our behalf. AMEN.
