Free in Jesus

Prayer: Oh, my Jesus, you make joy in my heart when I hear you speak my name! I love You. Help me to tune in and listen and hear Your whispered plans for today. I’ve read the book, chapter and verse and already know Your plans for tomorrow. I want to be ready – a warrior for Jesus!

My child, I am preparing my Bride, I love you so. Think not that my timing is slow. I shall pour out blessing upon you. My ways are perfect and you do delight therein. Wait but awhile and it shall become very clear to you what is in my heart. You shall and do hear. Fear not but rejoice. I love you and have a special place for you where I shall be also. More will become clear as you walk daily in my path of righteousness. Selah. You have been set free, child, no doubt, no guilt, no self recriminations but free in Jesus – rest in that release and be free.

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends thebridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. (NIV)

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. (NIV)

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. (NIV)

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. (NIV)

Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy willrejoice in the Holy One of Israel. (NIV)

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (NIV)

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Yet Again
Thoughts and feelings
Build up and spill out
In the silent language of tears
Are felt, then understood
Rather than heard by the other

Surely spoken language
Must have failed
For nothing can express
The emotion or evoke the empathy
Like the silent language of tears

Spoken not, but cried by both
Wetting lashed, cheeks and memories
Memories of the countless
Previous nameless times
We told each other goodbye

Almost Crashing
Lord God, You saved me from a car wreck
As I was turning and that kid was speeding
I stepped on the gas and my hand
Found itself honking the horn

Then he stopped and I left, just in time.
My hands are always at "10 and 2"
How did I hit the horn?
I wasn't trying and remember my surprise
When it sounded. THANK YOU, JESUS!

Thinking Realigned
I AM a God of peace, not punishment as you first think. My thoughts are for your good, no "baseball bats".

Come unto Me all you who are weary and I will give you rest. Rest your five track mind.

One focus. JESUS. Rest in My love, under My wings.

There are times and seasons.

Praise Me while I release you.

Our evacuees left today for Denver after a couple of stops - it was delightful having them here.

They are now saying 347 homes destroyed and they found human remains and have 10 people they haven't located but are trying to reach relatives to see if they know where they are.

Fire 15 % contained and is TWO miles from some homes in Woodland Park so the mandatory evacuation is still in progress for some areas, others on standby. Winds by us have really picked up and we are getting a "spit" of rain right now.

God is good.... ALL the time!

Fire News

We have had 2 days of good weather and the fire has only grown by 3000 acres. We have 2 gals and a kitty staying with us (evacuees) Right now it is trying to spit a little rain in the mountain meadow... saw two antelope running around the area this AM and a Richardson ground squirrel got into the garage and manages to climb up the shop vac hose and get himself stranded inside the shop vac... we took him down the driveway and let him out....

Prts of Woodland Park still evacuated and our church is in the evac area. No injuries as yet and "hundreds" of houses lost in firestorm 2 days ago in Mountain Shadows...

Time is Short

Child, your appetite should be after spiritual things.

Fix your eyes on Jesus allow his strength to be yours. Time is short.

Come into subjection to the Son so you might shine forth with His joy most abundantly.

Seek not to do and be busy but seek your Lord who eagerly awaits communion with you "Come back/come away my beloved." And I shall lift you above the darts of the enemy and desert of dryness of your soul. Be refreshed in Jesus who lives in you. Selah.

We see His graciousness and kindness even when He is disciplining us. I was being disciplined when I heard the Lord whispering this to my heart and yet felt so motivated and encouraged by His caring attitude and reminders of the provision which was there. Scripture encourages us to seek out God – we know that we need Him. We need to seek Him with everything that is in us. Out of the desert and into His most loving arms!

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NIV)

The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (NIV)

[ A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. ] O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, it is no wonder that David was a man after Your own heart. Please help us to have that seeking focus and not get distracted by externals. AMEN

Fire Update Press Conference 8AM Wed morning

The Waldo Canyon fire has spread to 15,324 acres and had burned homes in Mountain Shadows area of Colorado Springs last night. Now there are 32,600 evacuated just in Colorado Springs alone.

NO LOSS OF LIFE- no injuries in fire fighters (1000 of them now) and no injuries in people.

It is 5% contained - some embers jumped over Rampart Range Reservoir a 1/2 mile and ignited on the other side (they put it out)

Air quality in CS is terrible and even people with normal lungs are affected.

Prayers appreciated. Weather cooling a bit from record highs of 101 in CS.

The Latest is that at least 100 homes were burned in Colorado Springs.

We are OK....

There have been over 25 fires (set) in the past week – last I heard there are 3 new ones at the Teller and Park county line (I think by Lake George although we have a teller/park line less than 7 miles from us…. All the way to Fountain (set) and Elbert out east. Praying they catch the arsonist'arsonists. They might evacuate Woodland Park and 24 is closed so if we went to CS would have to be the back way around 90 miles.

We are safe right now and our fire is mostly contained but they pulled personnel off ours to go to Waldo which was over 5000 acres .

Arsonist or terrorists (chatter had it they were being trained to spot dry weather conditions and winds etc and SET fires….)

Way too much THANKS for praying

Have You Ever Considered the Garden of God

The following is something the Lord Jesus laid on my heart and some scriptures that amplify those thoughts.

Have you ever thought about God’s garden? I think it is made up of people rather than flowers and plants but he is a Master Gardener of people, isn’t He? Is there some mud in that garden? I think so, we are people and in the Word it says we are but dust. That can give you a bit of a chuckle if you think about it. We are also in the hands of the most capable Master Gardener. Does He prune us, cut back unproductive parts, yes, but only to produce more fruit and growth.  Is He whispering to your heart even now? He is speaking to mine:

Be still before me in the crisp Sonlight of my springtime.

Pause to allow me to renew and refresh you. Pruning might hurt at the time but it shapes and prevents unplanned/unnatural growth which saps strength - growth away/apart from me. I love you.

You shall bloom, bud by bud; flower bringing forth fruit. I delight in all my orchard at springtime - fresh, renewed with deep, well nourished roots, resplendent in springtime garb, full of my fragrance.

In Song of Solomon 4:10 the Lord Jesus is whispering to His Bride saying How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!”

A bit farther on in Song of Solomon 4:16 the Lord is speaking to the north and south wind, asking that it would blow on His garden that the fragrance might be spread abroad, asking that the lover would come into the garden and taste of its choice fruits.

2 Corinthians 2:14 again speaks of fragrance and how we will be used to spread it when it says “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.”

Prayer: Oh, my Jesus, may my praises and heart always be a delightful fragrance to You. Help me to grow daily and be a blessing instead of doing those things which break Your heart. Help me also to spread the fragrance of my Lord and Savior to those around me each day. AMEN.

Fires - horrible BUT JESUS!

We had a good service simply praying, praise the Lord and having scriptures and prophesies - praying and praying for rain.

The Waldo Canyon fire had highway 24 closed (the way from our place to Colorado Springs. Last I knew parts of the western side of Colorado Springs, all of Manitou Springs, many of the little communities up Ute Pass and the southern part of Woodland Park have been evacuated. Zero containment over 2000 acres burned - no lives or houses lost.

Much prayer needed - our Walmart in WP is closed along with much else. Many friends are evacuating or in danger.

Arsonist has started another fire out 67 outside of Woodland Park. Now we have had about 25 fires between our place and Colorado Springs since Monday - latest is in Elbert east of CS. Please pray -

Pruning, Does It Hurt Much?

For many years we lived in grape country. Ask any grape farmer, there wouldn’t be a very good harvest without the pruning of the vines. Pruning made the new crop more full, lush and with better fruit. Cutting back the older vines made way for newer and more healthy growth.

When we try to apply this growth to our Christian walk it gets, well, more personal. “But Lord, why are you cutting off that part of me? Hey, this is going to hurt! No, no, not THAT branch, please?”

Never mind that he is the master gardener, if you will, and knows exactly what within us needs to go, needs to be pruned, cut off.

“But that sounds so drastic, so final and permanent…”

Yep, it is and he knows just how much, when and which parts need to go for maximum growth in your (my) life. How did I get to be acquainted with all of this? Well, I think I am now taking a graduate course in “PRUNING”, actually a better title would be allowing pruning. Here come those nippers now and they are headed right for me, yikes!

What has He pruned in you lately? Probably the same things He has pruned in me. My mouth which has a tendency to spout off before my brain is engaged to start the list.

My fear, when I begin "what-ifing" because I have basically stated that God can't or God isn't or somehow that His arms are too short. I know better but my what-ifing indicates otherwise, doesn't it?

“Dying to the fear of man” has been pruned right down to the nub but sometimes it seems to rear its ugly head again.

The above are a few of my examples. What are some of yours?

Rest. Let your focus be Me. My peace I speak to you, daughter. Out of that stillness flows abundant life. Be still and know that I am God. Remember the season you are in? The pruning/productive season? Draw near to Me. Dwell in My Word. Selah.

Notice that the pruning season is not a season of loss but a productive season. Oh, how long it took to begin to see that you have to be pruned to grow the best, healthiest, sweetest fruit in your life and walk with Jesus. I am finally beginning to know this in my heart.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (NKJV)

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. (NIV)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (NIV)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth…(NIV)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help me to dwell in your Word, the Bible. And help me to dwell in You who are the living Word and to grow daily because of it and You! Please help me to hold still during the pruning process and allow You to do Your very best work in me. Thank You, my Savior. AMEN.

I Wouldn’t Have Chosen This Timing but It Is Perfect in Retrospect

We have it all planned out. It looks just perfect from our limited perspective. Us, calling the shots and then this will happen and that…. It has taken me years to see that even though I am an action person and have little patience for those who seem to sit and cogitate and then sit some more…. There is One who resides not in “time” but in eternity. Naturally His perspective is a bit bigger and more dimensional than mine. Mine is actually kind of “flat” when I think about it. Does that make it any easier to wait on the Lord? It usually doesn’t for me, how about you?

I think back to saving for a most wonderful doll. She was a totally beautiful Madam Alexander doll with blond hair and delicate features. At age 66 I still have “Debbie”. I wonder if she would have meant so much to me had my parents bought her for me the first time I laid eyes on her or asked. No, they suggested that I could save my allowance, quarter by quarter until I had enough for Debbie. Do I still have and love the doll Dad bought for me at the grocery store in about the same time frame? No, and I can’t even remember that doll’s name.

Our heavenly Father really does know best and has the most perfect timing. He and I have had many a “chat” about timing when I was just sure somehow He had missed my deadline. Yes, that sounds way too arrogant and I needed to be listening to His still, small voice teaching me about timing:

You are my child and I love you. My timing is not your timing but be not dismayed at that revelation. I AM yours and you are mine.

Keep on seeking Me and mine for you. You shall find and learn beauty through delay. I vacillate not nor waiver in My purpose/plan, plans I have for you, fear not but mee with Met each day, maximize on it and keep focused on Me. Sometimes it is not so much where you are but WHO you are, wherever you are.

If you maximize on Me and stay pure/holy/ready I can use you in a vast variety or circumstances. Know I love you (both) and have a plan. I still go before you and prepare the way/ways/doors. I AM THE door.

Do all without anxiety and live that moment for itself, taking advantage of that opportunity as it is there. Then, you, at that moment have no other to be concerned (focused on, anxious or speculating about). Use it to My advantage and I'll bring forth the increase in them and you.

I AM undertaking, fear not. I also have several plans which allow various "wills" and choices and I have My best. Sometimes it doesn't come about even if you and I are on target because of others.
But and still "all things work together for good for those who love me and are called.....". You can't lose. Selah

In Psalm 90:4 we are reminded of God’s perspective with “for a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night…”

Now before you began to moan thinking you will be dead before a thousand years is up remember there are those times He will put your life on “fast forward” going way faster than you ever dreamed. Remember also that you usually aren’t the only one in the equation and He is getting all ready to maximize His plans.

2 Peter 3:8 is even better is saying not only that a day with the Lord is like a thousand years but also that a thousand years is like a day.

This one got my attention. I am thankful that it is included in the Bible!

Prayer: Dear Lord, we cannot begin to comprehend your mind or your times so please help us to live for today and learn more of You and Your wonder. Help us to delight in Your perfect timing, even though it might not be what we imagined it would be. Thank You that you care enough to work out “perfect timing” in Your plans for our lives. AMEN

From God’s Perspective, Whether You Are Frantic or At Peace, the Outcome is the Same

Bobby's baby picture

Imagine watching your child facing something stressful in his or her life. They have a choice to face it calmly or with wringing of their hands. You, their parent, are in charge of the details and making sure that everything comes out “OK”. What would you rather see? Your child without angst and trusting you to pull this off for them or your kid all tied in knots fretting, stressing and looking like a pretzel tied in knots.

I was thinking the above after my Lord Jesus whispered to the “ears” of my heart:

My little daughter, the confusion you see is of the enemy but I am working through it for your good.

Whether you’re frantic or at peace in me the outcome is the same.

So you can turn it loose to me. I have a plan for you birthed out of love.

Still yourself in Jesus and behold as it unfolds. Trust me.

Psalm 4:5
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. (NKJV)

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (NKJV)

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (NKJV)

You mean I really don’t have to get upset, stressed, jumping up and down like a little kid, I simply need to trust You? What a most freeing and incredible revelation!

PRAYER: Dear Jesus, please help me to be at peace in You. Looks like You are telling me that frantic wastes so much time and energy all for no good reason.  I do hear You now, help me to remember when I am in the thick of it next time. AMEN

Fire update

As of this morning the fire near our place is still growing and not contained - the winds are quieter than usual, breezy. It has burned mostly national forest and BLM land and as far as we know no homes or lives have been lost. Keep praying for the firefighters!

How to be Healed Emotionally

When you stop to think about it, we probably all had what is referred to now as a dysfunctional family. We had issues of being hurt by ones who loved us and might have known better. We, ourselves, probably hurt those close to us be they relatives or friends. Sometimes we might have been lashing out like a kitten backed into the corner by the family dog, coming at someone with our claws out and hisses flowing. Other times it might have been a thoughtless word or action. Those times, going both ways, are common to all of us, common to life. That doesn’t make them hurt any less even with their remembrance.Have you talked to the Lord about them? Maybe you can hear His whisper to your heart:

Come as that little child unto me for healing. My arms embrace you and draw you close. I choose to give you liberty in My name. Be whole.
Let the tears of your years out to flow free. You don't even understand your pain nor feel it any longer. I desire to unfreeze you and set you free. It isn't your job to do as I am working it in you. Look up to me. I will release you.
It took a long time for you to build up your cover wall but I know where the key goes. Release, I speak onto you for healing. You shall be healed and your mother.
Look up to Me. I the Lord am mighty to the tearing down of emotional strongholds. I desire to free you and will. Expect and await release. And the beauty out of ashes is yours in Jesus Christ. Selah. (Pause and think calmly about that)

In Proverbs 15:4 we learn a bit about the tongue when the Bible says that the tongue that brings healing is a tree of life but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Has your spirit been crushed? Then allow the Lord Jesus to take your hand and walk you through that time and heal you today. He was there with you, he felt your pain and angst when it happened and he truly can set you free even now.

Isaiah 58:8 is another encouraging verse about healing speaking of your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

Malachi 4:2 gives us more hope on healing stating “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.” (NIV)

Just close your eyes for a minute and allow the word picture to sink in, the gate is opened and those rambunctious calves are running free, bucking and kicking up their heels after being confined and imprisoned for so long. That can be you and me today if we but trust Him with our pains and sorrows. Is it time, it is probably way past time!

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, thank you that you came and "by your stripes we are healed".  Thank you that it is not only physical healing (as per Strong's Concordance). Help us to see ALL the ways you heal in your creativity and giftedness on our behalf. Help us to step out of our imprisonment and receive that healing touch from Your mighty hands even today. AMEN

Fire update 6-18-12

We have found the best information on this site:

A firefighter friend of ours says they actually think it is over 1000 acres now and that was as of 10P last night. Today, no winds to speak of which is a miracle for up here and i do not see hardly any smoke and yesterday it was all over Pike's Peak and across mountains clear to the road going down to Canon City. Today just a light haze. They say no containment yet.

I am sitting here with the essentials packed, ready to catch kitties and go if necessary.

supposed to see doc tomorrow regarding my new meds and to start a new program that is supposed to help diabetes, blood sugar etc. but think I need to change that appt. Don't want to leave house and find out I have been evacuated (without kitties especially)

All the prayers are greatly appreciated!

Fire by our house

There is a bad wild fire that has burned over 300 acres not to far from us -we are packed and ready to leave if we get the call. Friends 7 miles away have left at a sheriff's recommendation and the fire was 5 miles from their place about 3 hours ago. It is  zero percent contained... I have no laptop so when we pack the computer stack no more communication for a time.

Is God Doing a “New Work” in Your Life?

We mostly do not like to change or have much around us change when we are set in our routine. Maybe that’s why we drag our feet and put on the brakes when we sense that our Lord is trying to do something different and new in our lives and walk with him. If we can have the attitude of our walk being an adventure and exciting with growth being for the good maybe that would help to keep the skid marks off our roads and pathways. I am not sure because I usually react to change with hesitancy. Later, looking back, I almost always wonder what took me so long, how about you? It is a bit like praying and then being surprised when He answers. He always does you know, even if it is to say “wait” or “no, child”.

My daughter, I love you, I’ve heard your prayers, your heart’s desires.

I’m recreating in you a clean heart with pure desires and Jesus first. Rejoice at the new work. Rejoice at My might and My power in your weakness. I am raising up a Bride, a peculiar people – be among the number and again I say rejoice.

You are My beloved. Yield as I draw you close. Dwell in My Word. I shall make you strong in Me. Fear not adversity for I, Jesus have overcome as shall my Bride! Selah
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. (NIV)
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (NKJV)
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.(NKJV)
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (NKJV)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you that you are strong on our behalf, that you clean up our heart and then give us the desires of our heart. O think you place those desires in our hearts and then fulfill them.  You who know us so well. We so appreciate that You have overcome the world and we can be overcomers with You! AMEN

Drought in Your Heart?

Do you have those times when there is a dryness in your spirit, a parched and thirsty time that can only be described as a true drought? Is it a time of tears or sorrow? I have those times. It is then, if I am thinking quickly enough in the moment, I remember Who promised that our of our hearts could flow “rivers of living water”.  How can that be possible when our very inner parts are DRY? Because we are His temple and He dwells therein. He is that source, it definitely is not from within anything that we could call “ourselves”.
He might be allowing this time so we can learn more about Him (Jesus) our ways and means provider, Jesus who is perfect and strong especially in our times of weakness. Who would think that we could embrace times of dryness and tears? Through our Lord Jesus Christ even this can be turned to a time of blooming, a time of growth.

Let not there be drought in your heart as I have given you refreshment even in your ears. Give the fears of your years to the ONE who is more than able to carry you through. I’ll take your fears, trembling – turning that occasion into a trusting time as you learn more of Me, your Savior and Lord. Allow Me?

In John 7:38 we are told that the one who believes in Jesus will have rivers of living water flowing from his/her heart.
During these times we can learn the deep meaning of 2 Corinthians 12:19 where Jesus says that His grace is sufficient for us and that His strength is made perfect in weakness. Then Paul (writing this letter) says therefore he will boast in his infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon him (Paul).

Paul could see that we are weak. He could see that Jesus recognized this and made a provision for us in these times. That provision is Jesus Himself. I can tell you from experience during my many weak times there can be no better provision than Jesus Himself.
Once again we are called upon to let go, to give the control of our lives to Him who made us and knows us best.

The Bible speaks of how God knew Jeremiah BEFORE he was in his mother’s womb in Jeremiah 1:5 saying Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” I don’t want to be presumptuous here but if he knew Jeremiah I suspect that He also knew you and me. We were no surprise to God but were and are still oh, so very precious to Him.

In Psalm 139:13-14 David speaks of God saying it so well  “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows very well.”

Please take heart, though you could have been a “surprise” to your parents you were no surprise to God. He thought you up, each little part of your “self” that makes you, you before you were conceived. He planned you. He might not have planned the circumstances of your conception but he definitely planned you. You are special, unique and cherished by the very God of creation.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for times of drought in our spirits so that we can come to know you even better. We can come to realize more that when we just can’t rise to the occasion maybe it is because we are supposed to let go and allow You to be huge on our behalf. Correct our sometimes puny thinking and help us to truly “let go and Let God!” Thank you even for those times of tears, we give them all to You! AMEN
