Please Have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS 2012

I had a pretty picture of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus but it disappeared...??

2012 has been an interesting year. (this is Marijo writing although Mick now actually has e-mail for his business and LIKES it!!!)
I finished radiation for my breast cancer in early February. The radiation followed the surgery I had in October 2011. They got it all and very early so I am blessed.

In June Mick parted company with his boss of 16 ½ years to start his own contracting business Alpine Construction Service. We had been praying about this for over 6 years and even though the economy looked bad felt this was the Lord’s timing. He is currently bidding 14 jobs and jumping through all the hoops to be licensed in 3 different counties. He is licensed in El Paso (Colorado Springs area) already. We just need signed contracts for him to start the jobs. Prayers appreciated.

In July I got to go to Iowa and see all the family including my niece, Marli and grandnieces Claudia and Maggie, from Korea! Their daddy, Ted, had his first command there and they love it. I also got to meet Ellicia, my nephew Paul’s daughter who is 2, for the first time and get caught up with my niece, Aimee. My niece by marriage, Talitha, was expecting their 2nd child but she was doing well. It is hard to think of my “little sister” with grandkids. She and Ken are just the best with those kids! We were celebrating Colette’s retirement!!

In October we went to Texas for the funeral of our dear Brother-in-law. George Aldama. We saw family there we hadn’t seen in years and had some good visits. We will miss George very much but know he is with our Lord Jesus. George loved the Lord very much and it was reflected in every facet of his life.

My next book will be coming out in just a few weeks. It is the second in the series of three devotionals. This one is called “Afternoon Whispers from the Heart of God” and will soon be available on Amazon, kindle, nook, Barnes and Nobel and after January in various Christian bookstores. Will keep you posted.

Simply love my publishers at RMS publishing. You can find me on the author page:

God has been SO good to us. Mick and I are spending more time together with his business although I now have a new title “office manager” and with that comes some definite responsibilities. My accounting method is hilarious (zip lock baggies) but it had worked before when Mick had his own business. I am making spread sheets….

We have SO much to be thankful for. May you and your family draw even closer to our Lord Jesus during this season of His birth.

We love and miss you all!

This powerful piece was written by a good friend of mine. The Blog spot is:

Most of us have heard of the 7 Wonders of the World. They are amazing architectural achievements of the ancient world that leave us in awe. This awe-inspiring emotion is what the Bible was referring to in Isaiah 9:6 when more than 750 years before the birth of the Messiah the prophet said, in Isaiah 9:6…
6 For unto us a Child is born,
      Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
      Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God,
      Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The birth of Jesus the Messiah was a wonderful thing, an amazing and breathtaking event, when a virgin, whom had been supernaturally impregnated by the Architect of the Universe, would bring forth a child… the very Son of God. It was a wonder of all wonders that God had poured the very essence of his being into the flesh and blood of the baby Jesus.
Wonderful, Wonderful Jesus… God with us!

However, if you haven’t come to know Him then you really cannot understand how wonderful Jesus is. Yet, it is for this Wonderful Jesus that the whole world takes pause every Christmas. We try to imitate the wonder of it all, with Christmas lights and Christmas trees and Christmas gifts. But, even with our most glamorous and elaborate celebrations we fall utterly short of replicating the true Wonder of Christmas… God’s gift to us.
So, what is so wonderful about Jesus?

Wonderful Jesus… gives sight to the blind, sound to the deaf, legs to the lame, health to the sick and casts out demons.

Wonderful Jesus… gives joy to the brokenhearted, hope to the hopeless, freedom to the enslaved, forgiveness to the unforgiven and love to the unlovable.

Wonderful Jesus… gives a home to the homeless, food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, garments to the naked and light to those in darkness.

Wonderful Jesus… turned water to wine, multiplied the fish, calmed the raging storm, walked on water and raised the dead.

Wonderful Jesus… gave His words of life, His breath of the Spirit, His hands of healing, His knees to prayer and His feet to the gospel.

Wonderful Jesus… gave his head to a crown of thorns, his back to the lash, his hands and feet to the nails, his blood to the cross and his body to the grave.

Wonderful Jesus… rose from the grave, paid the price for sin, defeated Satan, ascended into heaven and sent His Holy Spirit.

Wonderful Jesus… He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the light and the life of the world. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Great I AM, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

This Christmas it is my prayer that you may celebrate our Wonderful Jesus. If you don't know him or you are wondering who he is, I pray that you may come to know the wonder of it all... that you will come to know our Wonderful Jesus. If you are looking for him, you may find him in the Holy Bible. Just read the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You may also pray and ask God to reveal Jesus to you because He is still very much alive. He changed the course of world history and He can change your life. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Are You in the Middle of the Wind and the Rain

Do you think shed tears eventually help us to grow? Is that all part of His process for us too? Crying is usually out of frustration or overwhelming sorrow for me, occasionally anger plays a part in tears too. I don’t associate all of that with growth but maybe I am missing a key. Once again, I hear the voice of my Lord speaking His wisdom to me:
You hear the gentle rain. My tears wash, cleanse and nourish the grass, flowers and trees.

Just as the blood of my Son purifies all who accept it as shed on their behalf.

Through your walk with me there will be some of your tears shed to help you grow and become more fruitful as Jesus is magnified and your own willfulness is offered up as a sacrifice of praise to the Lamb who is worthy.

Let me wash and purify you, make you spotless.

Rejoice even in my rain times even when you think you can't see my Son perhaps He is accomplishing His great work in you even more on those rainy, rainy days.

Praise Him. Praise Him.

And of course our Lord never wept, did He? Look up the shortest verse in the Bible. John 11:35 Jesus wept. It was on the occasion of the death of His friend. Yes, Jesus knew He could, would and was going to resurrect Lazarus. I think he was touched by the grief of Martha and Mary and wept along with them.

1 John 3:3 speaks of purity. Jesus is pure and we are also to purify ourselves because we have the hope of Christ within us.

In Revelation 5:12 we hear more about who is worthy of our praises. Jesus, the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. He alone is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing. Can we give that to Him?

Next, we go to John 13:5 we get a verbal snapshot of Jesus washing and wiping the disciple’s feet, Jesus, being a servant to those He loved.

Prayer: Ah, Lord God, please help us to see the good of tears in our lives. Help us to let go and grow! To allow You to do your perfect work in our lives and hearts. We ask this in the incredible name of Jesus. Thank you for giving us a variety of emotions to feel and express to You! AMEN

Placing Our Trust Correctly to GO

We walk out on the wooden dock to get to the boat tied at the end. Do we go gingerly, thinking that each step might be our last? That the boards might give way and dump us in the drink? Or do we clomp on out carrying the cooler, life jackets and sun screen expecting the dock to get us to said boat? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have an even greater trust and confidence is our Lord? Ever stop to think about why we don’t? I don’t think the lack is on his side but rather my side, how about you?

I am not man, that my promises be in vain. Trust on my Son and rely /bank on my promises to you throughout my Word. I AM the deliverer. I Am the conqueror and so can you be through Jesus Christ Your Lord. He died to impart power to you, his Body, energized by his Holy Spirit. Be baptized, be filled to overflowing, yielded to the purpose of your Lord.  He came to set you free that others might know Him through your testimony. Go forth – be not silent but share the love of Christ as the Spirit opens doors for you.  Rejoice, lifting praises and thanksgiving to the One who is worthy!

I will begin with Isaiah, one of my favorite books in the Old Testament verse 55:8 reminds us that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are our ways God’s ways. I don’t know about you but to me that is a great comfort when I think of the sometimes puny attempts I make and thoughts I try to think. Revelation, God is broader, deeper, wider, higher than anything we could think or be and that’s not only okay, it is the way He planned it all, collective exhale time “whew”. This also means it is not ours to shoulder but to give to Him to work out the solution. Can you catch a glimpse of that freedom?

In 2 Corintihans 1:20-21 the writer speaks of promises and that no matter how many God made they are YES in Christ. I love what comes next, showing our part. Yes, the Lord God wants us to participate and be an active part in His plans. Saying so through him (Christ) the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us….

Think about that for a minute. God gives, God invited. God directs and then makes us stand firm and gives us His anointing. This is sounding more incredible with each sentence and there is more.

Hebrews 2:13 speaks of trust saying and again I will put my trust in Him. And he says Here am I and the children God has given me.

He knows we are children and He delights in us, we are His if we choose to be.

Psalm 18:2 gives us a wonderful word picture when the psalmist says the Lord is his rock, fortress and deliverer in whom he takes refuge. He is his (our) shield, the horn of his (our) salvation and his stronghold.

I think he gave us a bit to grasp there, don’t you? What an awesome Lord David had. What an incredible God we serve as he has not diminished since David wrote those words.

Romans 8:37 speaks of us in all things, being more than conquerors through him who loved us (Jesus Christ).

Moving on to Acts 1:8 which says you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

That was not just a promise for then but it for us today. He is still in the equipping business so that we can go and be His witnesses at home, at work, in the neighboring town and to the uttermost parts of this earth. Are you packing your bags yet?

In Luke 4:18 more is said about what He has for us today in that the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoner and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed…. Look it up and see what else he has for you (and for me!)

The next scripture I will quote directly because it is just too good not to:

1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect….(NIV)

We can’t go wrong, Saints. He has thought of all the ins and outs, all the needs. With Jesus, Father God and the Holy Spirit being our ways and means providers how can we go wrong? Only if we don’t “go” to begin with.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, We are humbled and honored that You’d give us so many promises in Your Word. If You have sent Your Holy Spirit before us to prepare the way, how can we sit or linger or not GO to do Your most incredible will. Thank You and help us to be over-comers in Your most Holy name! AMEN

Losing Your Balance? Lean on Jesus!

I am sitting here at the keyboard in the position of trying to go in to have a quiet time for over three hours now. I actually got to my QT place once and began praying. Then remembered someone I was supposed to write to on e-mail, which was triggered by my prayer list, and here I am back at the computer again. No, I didn’t follow my own instructions of having a paper and pen in my quiet time place to write down  “distractions and things to do” for AFTER the time spent with my Jesus. Can you relate to me here, warts and all? Then I hear His whisper:
My Daughter, guard against being so easily distracted. Know that I love you and am working much on your behalf. Things aren’t often as they appear. Lean on Jesus and you’ll never be off balance for long. Know that I know and rest in that. Stand. I will, I move in perfect, harmonious timing. Be not dismayed nor discouraged. Allow Me to open and close doors. Receive My peace and joy. Delight in My world/work, wherever you are. Selah (pause and think calmly about that)

It seems like I just wrote a devotional about Mary and Martha. Lord, might this mean that I am not too tuned in yet? That I am reading and it is going “in one eye and out the other”, that I am still “Martha-ing” my way through life most of the time. Then please at least help me write addressing this occasion.

In Luke 10:40 it speaks about Martha being distracted. I know there are also places in this same Bible where it talks about Jesus loving Martha. Hum, maybe I should change my middle name from Lynn to Martha. I guess the very best thing to do would be to pray and ask the Lord Jesus to change ME, not my middle name. To help me not be distracted and going like a little ping pong ball from floor to wall to ceiling, to FOCUS and SIT. I wonder if they have obedience training school for us saints. OK. Back to Luke.
Martha was distracted by all the preparations. I can relate. Who else is going to straighten the kitchen, load the dishes and wash, scoop kitty boxes and feet those four legged furry critters? Not Mick, nope, he is off earning money to pay the bills.

Lord, I am RETIRED. How did I ever get it done when we were both working and taking care of my folks in two different facilities and their home before that sold? I am retired and seemingly having less time than I did back then. No we didn’t have teenagers thrown into the mix.

Back to Luke, Lord my sister has left me to do all the work. Well, that didn’t apply to us. My sister and her hubby had his mom and grandmother to take care of, kids and grandkids and they were working more than 40 hour weeks at jobs in Iowa.

Then my attention was drawn to Isaiah 41:10 and I think this is a rhema scripture for me having my own name, Marijo Lynn Martha, stamped upon it. It says basically that I am not supposed to fear, because God (creator of the universe!) is with me, little old Martha-y me. That He is my God, should I doubt like I sometimes do. No, I don’t doubt Him, it is me I sometimes have serious reservations about. He goes on promising that he will strengthen me and help me and uphold me with His righteous right hand. That is where the spotlight should be, not on me and my puniness but on Jesus and His victorious right hand. The right hand of His righteousness, that is quite a relief.

Moving right along we turn to Philippians 4:9 which speaks to whatever we have learned or received or heard to put it into practice (from the writer) and promising that the God of peace will be with me.
John 16:24 goes on and says that until now you have not asked anything in my name (Jesus name) and that we are to ask and we shall receive and our joy will be complete.

Then Proverbs 3:5 comes into play next. We are to tryst in the Lord with all our heart and lean not to our own understanding…. How many times have I thought I had it all figured out and then in hindsight saw how far off base I was, really.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, I realize as I pause to pray that in writing this piece I have gotten into your Word and spent time with you. Thank you for the banquet of promises contained within those pages. Thank you that you are so creative in the ways you choose to speak life into our hearts. Thank you that right now I am purposing to stop, close the doors in my over busy mind and talk to you. And may all those reading this do the same. AMEN

A Reason for Thanks All Year Long

(this is a page from my soon to be published book "Afternoon Whispers from the Heart Of God ")
My child, rejoice for I have saved your soul from sin and damnation. Climb unto my heavenly pathways – let Me lift you unto Me as you lift Me up in song, in spirit with joy. I care. I love you. Quiet your spirit before Me and I will teach you My peace.

We are about to celebrate Thanksgiving on a special day, one for family, friends, food and focus on our provider, God. We pause to remember His special gifts to us beginning with our salvation. If Jesus hadn’t come and lived among us and then gone to that terrible splintery cross and died so that we might live, where would we be? I hate to even think with the path that I was running before He saved me.
Perhaps it is good to reflect on where He met us and what He delivered us from. He delivered us from ourselves, our sin, our choices which broke His heart on a regular basis, our self focused life styles leading ultimately to our destruction. If He hadn’t come to pay the debt we owed and yet we could have never paid, where would we be? Jesus is God, sinless yet tempted just as we are all tempted. He left heaven. One day we will see with our own eyes exactly what He left, or maybe better put WHO He left. He left the presence of His Father to become a baby boy who’d grow up to be that man on the cross. The only one who could have died and paid the terrible price for your sin and for mine.
The following scriptures amplify what the Lord Jesus Christ laid on my heart in the above “word” from Him to me and to you. The scriptures below clarify and some could even be used as prayers to the Lord.

Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Take a minute to look up the following writing down what our Lord is saying to you, today, about the application of each verse to you, personally.

Titus 3:5

Ephesians 1:3

Psalms 131:2

2Peter 3:14

My Commitment:

Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus that you CAME and didn’t call 10,000 angels but went through the agony of death and separation from the Father as he turned his head. Oh, Lord, will we ever begin to grasp what that sacrifice cost? Thank you that you can and will teach us Your peace. And thank you that I have grown, yes, in tiny increments but little by little is still growth in You!  We pray in Your name, Lord Jesus, AMEN.

I AM always here. Draw rivers of peaceful refreshment from my limitless well, it is My gift to you. Quench your thirst. Be refreshed/sparkling inside and out., as a teacher on a hot, dusty desert after being drenched/satiated with an artesian spring. Be pure in Me. Let Me flow out from you. Thank You that you want to spend time with us! AMEN.

Marijo’s Clam Chowder

4 slices of bacon, fried crisp, crumbled and set aside
2- 8 oz cans of chopped clams and the juice
1 onion chopped and sautéed
4 medium potatoes, scrubbed and diced
2 stalks of celery, diced
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 ½ C water
Dash of pepper
1 C milk

Mix all of the above except the bacon, milk and clams (put the clam juice in but hold the clams) in a Dutch over (or large sauce pan with a lid) Cover and simmer until potatoes are cooked. Ass clams, milk and bacon and heat but do not boil. You may substitute cubed ham for the bacon.

If you like a thicker clam chowder, mix 1-2 tablespoon of corn starch with ¼ C water and stir in BEFORE adding the milk and clams to thicken the mixture – bring to a boil stirring constantly. Then add the milk, clams and bacon or ham to finish.  Serve with a tossed salad and sour dough bread for a great meal.

GOD is Your Father!

Do you find yourself needing to get a picture of just how BIG your Daddy is? Sometimes I find that I do. And He will gently nudge and remind me little bits and pieces of just who it is that I can rely upon. Bit by bit as He speaks to my heart and as I see more of a picture of Him portrayed in His Word I really do begin to understand. Once in awhile, I get a much needed “booster shot”. I am sure that we can all relate to this at one time or another.

My Daughter, who is your Father? Is His arm too short that it can’t reach? My love for you is boundless, limitless. All things work together for good. Know that with security. Be not dismayed or discouraged.

Isaiah 59:1 reminds us with rhetorical statements that the Lord’s arm is not too short so that it cannot save nor his ear heavy so that it cannot hear.

You might have noticed by now that I love Isaiah – the writing style and topics covered and the promises contained within that book are incredible for this believer.

In Romans 8:28 we are encouraged by the verse which tells us that all things work together for good for those who love God and are the called according to his purpose. Notice that it does not say that all things are good, but rather that all things which come in life work together for ultimate good if you love God and are part of the called according to God’s purpose. The focus is on our heavenly Father, loving Him and being obedient to His purposes for our lives. How can we then go wrong?

Romans 8:16-17 speaks of the Holy Spirit “bearing witness”, reassuring us that we are God’s children and heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if we suffer with Him that we may be glorified together. Maybe this is the original “no pain, no gain” but we do need to be willing to suffer with Christ. There is a definite cost to pay in coming to the Lord Jesus Christ but it is such a small cost compared to the “gain”.

Who is your Father? God, the one and only who created the universe and hung the stars in place can be your Father, if you just ask Him. Forgiveness is the most liberating thing in life, Christ died and paid the price to set each of us captives free, to give us a heavenly Father who “adopts” us as His sons and daughters. There is no time like today to ask, He will definitely meet you where you are.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please help me to TRUST during those times things look blurry to my natural eyes. Help me remember whose hand it is that I clasp tightly and to REST in You. Lord, help any who haven’t asked your forgiveness to do so even now. Lord Jesus, you paid with your very life so that each and every one of us could be forgiven and free. Impress this afresh upon our hearts today and help those who haven’t asked to speak with you about their forgiveness. AMEN

Marijo’s Chicken Tortilla Soup

1 cooked chicken or 3-4 chicken breasts cooked and cut up

2 cans of cream of chicken soup diluted with water OR use the soup cans full of buttermilk for a sour cream taste OR use the water plus a cup of fat free sour cream if buttermilk makes you squirm.

1 diced onion (can pre-cook first but we like ours raw with a kick) OR may use a bunch of scallions diced

1 larger can diced green chilies

1 can diced tomatoes

(May use I can rotel whatever heat you desire instead of the chilies and tomatoes)

1-2 cups crushed tortilla chips (the flavor is your choice)

Parmesan cheese ½ cup

Grated Mexican cheese ½ cup

May add 1-2 tsp cumin if desired

Mix all together and heat but don’t boil or the milk will curdle (tastes OK that way but doesn’t look so good)

Serve with a tossed salad or a fruit salad and enjoy!

·   This piece was posted on FB by a dear Brother in the Lord and friend of mine. We went to the same church back in the 1980s. Dr. Cliff Kelly expresses many points here which should lead us to our knees. We need to pray as never before. I am pleased to have Cliff post this piece on my blog today. Marijo

CONSEQUENCES OF RE-ELECTION. I have vowed to publish encouraging information in this space whenever possible. I have also vowed to print the truth as often as possible, however harsh that truth, for it's the truth that ultimately sets us free (Jn. 8:32). In that spirit, I present the hard, steely analyis of a post-election America penned by a leading Christian policy analyst from a major Christian university. Again, not for the faint of heart, but only for those who desire truth over fantasy, that we might better plan our responses to those hard truths. dk

Obama is a hard-left socialist/communist Marxist embedded in cultural Islam. Marxism is the key. Redistribution the policy. Bringing down America the goal. The movie 2016 proved he is an anti-colonialist and his course in office is revenge.

His past has never been fully explored. His activities and views remain obscure, except to keen analysts who work like intelligence specialists. His friends and mentors have been Marxists and advocates of Liberation Theology.

His birth certificate is a proven forgery. He was born in Kenya and had Indonesian citizenship. He probably gained entrance to Occidental and Harvard as an alien.

Before election in 2008 he aimed for transformation of America. He views the Constitution as defective.
He failed to protect and defend the Constitution in several significant ways during his first term.
He ruled as much as possible by fiat. He installed czars.

He took effective control of the banking and investment community but not complete control, which was unnecessary because so many financial institutions benefited from stimulus over-spending. Thus he bought their cooperation and submission using printed money.

He gained control of the auto industry and paid off the unions.

With full cooperation of Democrats in Congress he gained control of the health care sector of the economy.
He has impeded moves toward energy independence. His avowed goal was to put the coal industry out of business. Support of failing green industries was mere window-dressing to soothe and captivate the environmentalist heart. A wasted billion is nothing compared to 1.7 trillion deficit every year.

He has selectively undermined religious freedom and encouraged anti-christian behavior, advancing contrary social issues and suppressing Christian institutions.

His policies have increased welfare roles and government dependency.

He has gained the undying support of the vast majority of the unemployed, who care more for government handouts than for working. It's the handouts, stupid.

He bowed to the Saudi king, allowed Americans to die in Benghazi, emboldened Iranian radicals, helped deliver Middle Eastern nations into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, and said nothing about persecution of Christians all over the world. He lied to the UN about Benghazi and dissed Netanyahu.

Attack the First Amendment freedom of the press where such attack will help to shut down the open internet and conservative talk radio.

Continue attacks that chip away at freedom of religion.

Suppress vocal church leaders by intimidation.

Enhance secular universities via debt-financed student attendance.

More pressure on Israel to yield to Palestinian and radical demands.

More use of Executive Orders to bypass GOP resistance in the House. The House GOP will be blamed for all future failure.

Immigration "reform" to provide amnesty for aliens to further build support for socialism.

Put extreme liberals on the Supreme Court.

Judgment of the Lord?

Early Election Day before any results were known the Lord gave me Isaiah 47. Usually when He lays scripture on my heart it is for me. I prayed asking "What, Lord?" And felt the Holy Spirit whispering to my heart "America".

I believe that America is coming under judgement for the killing of thousands of babies, the blatant flaunting of homosexuality, the turning away from Israel, taking God out of almost all facets of life instead of clinging to Him and seeking Him, elevating men instead of God, etc.

I think Hurricane Sandy was part of this judgement and we will see more as this nation chooses to do more and more taking its people away from the Lord God. Legalizing drugs is part of what is opening us up to the enemy of our souls.

I share below the chapter from Isaiah and also a verse filled with hope. I pray it is not too late for the latter.

Isaiah 47

King James Version (KJV)
47 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Another scripture which comes to mind and is a scary thought is that we might be seeing the fulfillment  of this:

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

King James Version (KJV)
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What are your thoughts on all of this?
