What is the Answer or Maybe We Should Ask Who?

Type, "Rest" if you desire the rest that only Jesus can give!

Questions that we ask over our lifetime, answers that we try to find, sometimes we think the quest is taking us in many, diverse directions. For me, many of those questions were answered when I met Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. If I get quiet before Him I can usually hear Him whispering to my heart of hearts. Following is one of the things He has whispered to me:
Fear not, for I am with you. You shall not always have an answer for your each and every circumstance because you KNOW and TRUST THE ANSWER, Jesus.

He has perfect understanding, relax in His wisdom. Do not badger yourself trying to know every facet of that which you are supposed to walk through in faith.

When a child's hand is in the Father's his is to go rejoicing, not questioning every turn and corner. Curiosity is ok but figuring or analyzing so you're "in charge' or "calling the shots" is only going to slow the journey and cause you pain.

My love and perfect plan for you is birthed out of great compassion and concern for your very best interest. Take my hand and we shall go forth victorious. Rely on my strength my child. I love you most dearly.

In 2 Corinthians 4:18 we are encouraged to fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. What is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal. This scripture is a mind boggler. How can we look at what we cannot see. Yet, when we focus on that how can we not “see”?

In Isaiah 25:1 the prophet is lifting up his Lord and God saying he will praise God and exalt His name, in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. One look at the evening sky here in the mountains confirms that. One look at the life I used to lead definitely underscores the mercy and love of God.

I Chronicles 16:11 encourages us to “look” to the Lord and His strength, seek His face always. Can we see Him with our eyes. Not yet, but we are anticipating and waiting that very day!

Prayer: Ah, Lord, looks like I am retaking a test again to lean on Your strength, dare to believe and hold on to only You and realize that I don’t have to have each little answer if I know and trust in You.  HELP?  AMEN

Praying With A Prayer Partner Devotional (words from the Lord Series)

Seek Me first and early, then draw together (at least) daily. Enter with thanksgiving and praise – you do not see in the unseen realm except that which I reveal. Know much moves on “little” prayers and praises, much is halted because of lack thereof. There is no bondage, but freedom and release in Me, the great I Am.
There are times and seasons of heated battle and times of relative rest. Remember to pray always without ceasing. I Am there in the midst of you, need you any other reason or cause? There are times when you are together solely to delight in My presence. Your obedience and steadfastness pleases Me and I enjoy communion with you, that’s reason enough. My daughters, I Am pleased. I will give you boundaries/guidelines, fear not, haven’t I always been faithful? Yours is to stay yielded.
Your openness and receptiveness I love. I will direct your enthusiasm to flow most constructively. It will not destroy nor should you destroy it. I will channel it. Remain open and teachable. You have no idea what I desire to do and am doing. You are each and both priceless. I want to steep you in prayer fellowship so it will become a vital, non-dying part of your lives to be continued with your mates, never to be abandoned – therein lies the strength in relationship – communion/communication in and through Me.
You are and do delight my countenance – know and receive my peace. Ask. I will explain. Go forward, I will check and guard. You ARE mine. No condemnation. You are seeing the way and balance. I love you, daughters. Selah

·         Prayer partner can be a spouse, friend, brother or sister in the Lord – if you have never had one, pray about one – it is one of the best things in LIFE!
Dearest Jesus, please bless all my former and present prayer partners.  Keep teaching and leading and “growing” us up in You.  May we be able to teach others the incredible multiplication of two praying together.

Deuteronomy 32:29-31 (New International Version)
If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be! How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up? For their rock is not like our Rock,  as even our enemies concede

I think this will eventually end up being a devotional but wanted to encourage you with it today. The Lord gave this to me yesterday.

Shhhh, the Spirit of your Living Lord speaks to your spirit joy on your journey. HE lifts you close over rocky roads, hugging you tightly. Fields of flowers blooming or during winter white with crispy, fresh snow your Lord carries you.

Rest in His capable arms.

Rejoice in His closeness.

Yield to His Spirit’s wooing,
Even now.

HE certainly is in control,

Know this

God Speaks to His Body Even Today

I am often reflecting that if I am not hearing God clearly perhaps it is because my own wheels are spinning too loudly. Our God is still speaking to His Body of believers if we have “our ears on”. He speaks through the Bible, through preachers and prophets, and in His still small voice directly to our hearts:

My children, again I say I love you. There is power in that love. My love casts out fear. Stand up and be counted in Jesus name. I love you!

My children, my children, fear not, I am in the midst of you to heal the broken hearted and set the captives free.

My children, I am in your midst tonight to teach you a new thing, to set the captives free and give you new freedom in Jesus name, receive.

In I John 4:18 is that famous quote about perfect love casting out all fear, fear having to do with punishment and the one who fears not being made perfect in love. While I do take that scripture at face value I sometimes see it this way: Jesus is perfect love because God is love and Jesus is God. What could be more perfect that God? So I see Jesus “Perfect Love” standing up and being a warrior on my behalf and taking my fears and trashing them one by one just for me. Somehow envisioning this really works. I begin to see just how BIG the one is who is on my side and everything else seems to grow smaller by comparison.

The next scripture I would like to address is in Isaiah 61:1 which speaks of God’s Spirit being upon me (us, as believers) to preach good news to the poor, to bind up brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and release prisoners from the darkness. Do you realize what incredible power that is and I don’t think it is just for Isaiah or Jesus since we now are His Body, do you suppose that means that He will allow us to do these things too?

In John 14:12 the Word says that we believers will do greater works than Jesus after he leaves. Oh, my.
Then I flip the pages over to Isaiah 43:19 where the Lord talks about doing a new thing and making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

I was definitely a desert before I met Him. A dried up and unproductive life full of destruction. I don’t know about you but I more than welcome streams to my wasteland and will await the blooming expectantly because of Jesus!

Prayer: Please Jesus, help our hearts to be ready for your “new thing”. Thank you for your wonderful love in which there is no fear. Thank you for setting this captive FREE!!! AMEN.

Our Eyes Upon the Lord

What are you looking at, gazing upon, focusing your eyes towards? Is it your list of things to do for today? Is it the bank statement or checking account book? Is it the novel you are currently engrossed in, your family or the antics of your children or even your pets? Is it your loved one’s eyes? Ah, now we are getting “warmer” and closer to what would be the very best. To be totally focused and engrossed with your loved one’s eyes and heart. I know those times, sometimes. And those eyes which captivate mine belong to my Jesus. We need to have an eternal focus and not be caught up with the cares of this world although there are many things here and now that need maintaining, aren’t there? Think of your Lord and Savior looking you in the eye and speaking to your heart:
Child, your eyes are upon Me. You seek Me and I AM is at your side. I love you so very much and receive and delight in your love for Me. Come into my presence with Thanksgiving and with song. I take delight in you just as you are. Selah.

In Psalm 69:30 The psalmist is stating that he will praise the Lord’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. How many things do we have to be thankful for? If we started “running the list” we could truthfully be here for a long time. Even if we don’t have much in the way or material “things” most of us have SO much in the way of relational and spiritual blessings. With all the promises in the Word of God why should we be afraid?

Psalm 95:2 encourages us to come before Him with thanksgiving and to lift up His name with music and song. Have you ever just started singing a new tune and saying aloud some of those things that you are thankful for? He doesn’t care if you can “sing” or not, your voice and heart are so sweet to Him.

In Psalm 100:4 we are encouraged to enter in to His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, to give thanks to Him and praise His name. Can you imagine an invitation to enter in to the dwelling place of the creator of the universe? We are invited and encouraged and are even told in what manner we can be a blessing to Him. Like the little drummer boy was purported to say in that Christmas song “what gift can I bring to Him?” Well, we can yield up our tongues to Him who created even us and give Him thanks and praise. These two things will and do touch His heart when they come straight from our hearts.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you that you delight is song and praise and thanksgiving. You turn us loose to worship you with joy!  May we do this more and more even in our own homes. AMEN

Prayer request

Requesting prayer for a writer friend Alessandro Monte (Brazilian born in 1967 - father of two teenage boys) has many serious health issues - two months ago "my heart told me to stop all treatment" This treatment included meds, apnea machine etc. He is a BIG guy with a huge heart for the Lord - he is one of the only ones I know who actually practices the presence of the Lord like "Brother Lawrence" in that book.... anyhow, please pray for complete healing for this young man!

Tides in Our Lives

We have all probably lived through a few seasons of change. Springtime comes and goes into summer, then all the leaves fall off making a carpet of crunchy orange-green-brown-reddish leaves underfoot, then, if you are blessed, comes the frost and snow. Standing at the ocean or even on the shores of a lake you can see the waves and the tide. You can actually get a snapshot of the weather watching those waves; white caps on wild and windy days, reflective times shown on the glass mirrored surface of a lake on a windless day. God sees our lives like that too. Sometimes He talks to us about our “ebbs and flows”:

Child, there are ebbs and flows to life. You are beginning to see the reason and the beauty in both. You can sense/anticipate a glimmer of what I AM doing but yet see "as in a glass darkly" (like in a foggy bathroom mirror after a shower).

Keep on seeking Me. Keep on turning your heart unto Me. Each beat which would be out of time with My heartbeat you can yield to Me and I can redeem.

Remember winters/dormant times are not sluggish hibernation times, only times of growing roots and rest and increased sap to give life to the springtime fruit.

In no season is more done and less apparent. Don't take your ease but also cease striving. I will make it ALL happen.

Stay in My Word and soak. I will give you richness/fullness of growth. Don't "beat the bushes" for projects/busyness but flow in Me.

Minister creatively unto him I've given you. I shall lead. How shall he begin to know how much I, his Father, love him?

Sing psalms and melodies of praise and being to the Great I AM, Father of all, throughout your day. Selah.

In 1 Corinthians 13:12 the Bible speaks of us seeing in a mirror, dimly (now) but then we will see “face to face”. Now I see in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.  Can you even begin to imagine seeing the Creator of the Universe “face to face”? Frankly, I can’t wait, though somehow I suspect this is another area where I will be retaking Patience 101 for a few more weeks yet.

In Philippians 1:6 the writer expresses his confidence in God when he says “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…. “ I too, am confident of “this very thing”. It is all because of Jesus that this former atheist has now been walking in a relationship with Jesus for almost 36 years. I know that Jesus, who began that work in me will complete it. And I take this time to publicly say “yes, Lord Jesus, YES!”

PRAYER: Oh, Lord Jesus, your Word is SO rich, help me to soak and internalize all you give to me!

Draw Closer to God

Like and share:
In our lives, there are acquaintances and there are friends. Some friends are casual and some friendships are deep, the “closer than a brother” type of friendships.
My question today to you and to myself is what kind of a friend so we consider the Lord Jesus Christ? If we have invited Him to be our Lord and Savior shouldn’t we make Him a friend of the deepest kind?  How do you go about that? What do you do with your very closest friend? You spend time sharing experiences and your hearts. You talk about deep rather than just surface things. You laugh and cry together. You don’t always see eye to eye but love each other anyhow and appreciate the differences in your personalities and perspective.

With the Lord, the friendship involves all of the above and a great dose of listening. He is God. He created the universe, thought up all the created creatures and their intricate working parts. He “knit you together in your mother’s womb”. Who better to listen to and listen carefully as He has the answers to our lives:
Child, there is a specific purpose in that which you are going through right now.

Do not be dismayed or give up hope for I the Lord shall lift you up and you shall go forward in my name, for righteousness sake.

Draw nigh unto me. Get into my Word and My Word into you. Absorb and grow.

Be dependent on no one but Jesus. I wish to help you grow fruitfully fuller still. Lean on me daily. I love you.

In Psalm 73:28 the Bible speaks about it being good to draw near to God and put our trust in Him in order to declare all His works. David learned and applied a secret to relationship. He was known as “a man after God’s own heart”. Wouldn’t that be a description we’d love to have also?

Hebrews 10:22 encourages us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. This word picture is painting someone who I would love to resemble more and more in my walk with the Lord Jesus, how about you?

In James 4:6 we are further encouraged to draw near to God and told He will draw near to us. We are exhorted to cleanse our hands (you sinners) and purify our hearts (you double minded). The best part about this is that God wouldn’t ask us to do something impossible. So we know these things are possible and He is there to walk us through the process.

James 4:10 seems to have a key to the process stating that we are to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift us up. Our action of humbling enables He wil knows us best to lift us up. What greater love and power. What a most incredible “Daddy”.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you that you lift us up. Help me to remain humble and to know what "humble yourself" means in a practical, everyday way. Help me to desire to feast on Your Word even more than to eat my daily food. Please turn my eyes ever towards You. AMEN

When your Heart Aches for Another

Is there someone you are very close to? Someone you want the best for? Someone who is walking SO close to the edge of that cliff? Then you recognize that still, small, reassuring yet instructing voice which leads and guides you:
My daughter, he is not your child, but mine. I'm washing him pure in the blood of the Lamb. You see what is left to be done. I see him as covered with Christ's glory and HIS robe of righteousness. Pray that I might show you how I see him, resplendent with potential.

Don't close doors that I have opened. Admonish as I lead you only. Pray without ceasing to gain perspective.

He is beautiful in My sight and becoming more so daily. My grace IS sufficient for him. You allow him to seek my face and tap my grace. He will be made whole. A healing has begun already.

Support in prayer and pray with him. Selah.

In Isaiah 61:10 the writer goes over some of the blessings of the Lord in his life saying he delights greatly in the Lord and his soul rejoices in his God. He (God) has clothed me with the robe of righteousness and the garments of salvation likening the adornment to the bridegroom and the bride. What beauty and what a promise for those who are His.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 we are encouraged in our weakness. God promises that His grace is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect how? When we are strongest? When we are at our best? Nope, it says “in weakness”. The writer goes on to say he will boast gladly about his weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest upon him. That is a far cry from the standards of the world. Relax. He made you and certainly knows the areas you are weak, even better than you do AND He is there to lift you up and carry you through.

Matthew 9:35 speaks about healing and preaching, how Jesus went through the villages and did both “healing every disease and sickness”, if His Body could just get a hold of that one today.

One of my very favorite “word pictures” is found in Malachi 4:2 where is talks about those who revere His name and how the sun of righteousness will rise (on their behalf) with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.

What a picture – those young calves bucking and jumping and leaping for joy of being released.

He promises to heal. We all need healing in so very many ways and we can also trust Him to heal those we love.

PRAYER: Lord God, please help me to leave him in your most capable hands. Help me to speak only when You give me words to say and to rest in that.  I want to turn loose and have that peace which comes from giving this burden to You and watching Your most wonderful love unfold before my eyes.

Me with Scratchy, Sleep Swollen Unfocused Eyes

(NO photo - use your imagination...)

We are blessed to have eagles where we live, both bald and golden and can sometimes watch them. They are most incredible created beings with wing spans up to eight feet. Imagine that. I find it difficult. It does make me realize why our cats are “total house cats” but that is a digression.

It was once said that the eagle that soars in the upper air does not worry itself as to how it is to cross rivers.
Prayer: Oh, Lord God, I’ve been like that eagle – help me to realize when I’m with You that IS my inheritance!!! Father, forgive me for being “on vacation”. Help me to work out quality time in the Word and prayer. Allow me to be refreshed and renewed after six hours of sleep? Help me to leap out of my lethargy into Your presence daily or twice daily? AMEN

There are times child, when you get distracted but I don’t, so fear not, I love you still. Only you can slow down and focus on Me. I shall/am going before you – my timing IS perfect. I shall reveal more to you soon. Rest, recover, absorb my Word and grow.

Oh, Jesus with scratchy, sleep swollen, unfocused eyes and the proverbial “grunt” in my early morning attitude, I CHOOSE to praise You!!!

Isaiah 40:31 tells us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength (not might but WILL). They will soar with wings like eagles. (I have watched them, seemingly effortlessly even on those gale force wind days sailing aloft with ease) they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

This is quite a promise. This promise is yours.

In Job 17:9 we are taught that the righteous will hold to their ways and those with clean hands will grow stronger. This is another great promise for God’s children, those who have been born again. By the way, “born again” is not a new catch phrase. You can read all about it in John 3:2-4 when Jesus is speaking with Nicodemus and speaking about being “born again” quite forcefully. He wasn’t talking about joining a church or being confirmed either. Check it out for yourself.

In Psalm 34:10 we have yet another promise that the lions may grow weak and hungry but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Are you seeking Him today?

In Psalm 61:2 the psalmist is seeking after God saying from the ends of the earth he (David) calls to him (God) I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. What rock is higher than we are? The rock of our salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ, the chief corner stone and our firm foundation IF we ask Him to be!
Psalm 16:11 says You have made known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Can you begin to see why David was a man after God’s own heart? Yes, he sinned and reaped the consequences of those sins but he also pursued God with a passion.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, may we each pursue You with all our hearts. May we have the heart of David in seeking relationship with You. Teach us? Show us? Lead us even today to that Rock which is higher than we are. We praise and thank You! AMEN

Christ Speaking to Our Hearts Devotional (Words from the Lord Series)

Child, I would speak to your heart. You are Mine. I’m recreating in you the mind of Christ – it doesn’t happen in a day. Yield – keep on yielding. Absorb yourself in the Word. My discipline shall become your joy. Your completeness, your delight as you begin to walk therein. Worry not nor buzz about – I AM the ways and means provider. Rest in my soliloquy and be refreshed. There is a purpose – enjoy my presence and fret not. I am preparing you for greater things in Jesus, your heart needs to be whole, not fractured. There is mending time so rest in My arms as I recreate a clean, whole heart in you, my child, my Bride, my delight. Please Selah (Pause and calmly think about that)

Soliloquy = act of talking to oneself, a discourse made by oneself in solitude to oneself, monologue. (I had to look it up! High School English was a long way back….)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I DO enjoy your presence. Please keep drawing me closer and closer to you. Clean my closets – in your perfect love and timing – throw out that which no longer belongs. Create in me a new heart and renew a right spirit within me! AMEN

Why do we have such a difficult time being quiet? Is it that we think we have so much to say that is so important? Why does is become a problem to sit at the feet of the Creator of the Universe and learn from Him? I think this might be what is meant by “cares of this world”. We cannot allow the washing machine, doing dishes, TV, the telephone ringing or clamoring family to take priority over quality time spent in the Word and with our Lord, can we?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. (NIV)

I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. (NIV)

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (NIV)

a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak……..(NIV)

Yet Again

Thoughts and feelings
Build up and spill out
In the silent language of tears
Are felt, then understood
Rather than heard by the other

Surely spoken language
Must have failed
For nothing can express
The emotion or evoke the empathy
Like the silent language of tears

Spoken not, but cried by both
Wetting lashed, cheeks and memories
Memories of the countless
Previous nameless times
We told each other goodbye

Almost Crashing

Lord God, You saved me from a car wreck
As I was turning and that kid was speeding
I stepped on the gas and my hand
Found itself honking the horn

Then he stopped and I left, just in time.
My hands are always at "10 and 2"
How did I hit the horn?
I wasn't trying and remember my surprise
When it sounded. THANK YOU, JESUS!

Thinking Realigned

I AM a God of peace, not punishment as you first think. My thoughts are for your good, no "baseball bats".

Come unto Me all you who are weary and I will give you rest. Rest your five track mind.

One focus. JESUS. Rest in My love, under My wings.

There are times and seasons.

Praise Me while I release you.

He Knows Your Heart

What does it mean for God to say that He knows our hearts? Our physical heart is that from which flows our life, our life blood. Without our heart we cease to exist. There is also a reason that a Valentine is symbolic of love, romance shown by giving someone a paper heart. Often our words can say one thing but in our heart we are possibly thinking something else. When we have something shared with us by our Lord Jesus do we say He whispered in our ear? Most often that still, small voice is thought of as whispering to our hearts. Even the phrase “getting to the heart of the matter” evokes mental pictures of getting past all the fluffy unimportant issues and going straight to the core matter. So, once again, I sense that my Lord is whispering to my heart:
Child, it isn’t always what you say but the heart from which it is said – I hear you. Stop and listen to Me. Read my Word and it will wash, renew and open up to bless you. You can’t always hope to know ahead or second guess but trust in My Name.

In Proverbs 4:23 we are encouraged to keep our hearts with all diligence, for out of our heart spring the issues of life.

2 Timothy 2:22 exhorts the reader to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. That one sentence says so very much. On one side we have youthful lusts as opposed to what we should pursue, righteous, faith, love and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, marriage counseling in just one verse. The word is incredible that way, isn’t it?

The banquet of life there for our “eating”, I think it is never too late to “taste of the Lord and see that He is good”. We can do that best by reading, studying and getting ourselves into His Word, the Bible.

Prayer: My dear Jesus, thank you for whispering to me, thank you that you help me to turn, to hear your still, small voice. Thanks so very much that you do look to my heart and not what is sometimes coming out of my mouth, or not coming out that should be….I choose to trust in you, my Jesus. Help me to purpose to spend more time in Your Word, getting to know You better and better each day. AMEN

Be Encouraged By Your Savior

Doesn’t it make your day when someone tells you that you did a really great job at some task you were in charge of? It should make you feel even better when the Creator of the Universe reminds you of His love. If you have been “made new”, become a “new creature in Christ” or been “born again” then this encouragement is for you!  If you haven’t been forgiven, there is no day like today and no time like the present. ASK. It is all about Him (Jesus) who died to set you free. I know. I was set free by Him and he has never let me down since!

My Child, you are mine for a purchased, paid price. I ransomed YOU with my life so that I might live in you and flow/move through your hands.
Doubt not your salvation. My Word is your assurance. Rest on Me, not your works. I am strength. I am love. You are mine and I will not let you down, drop you or push you away from my embrace.
Trust and believe me. I am your God.  There is none other like unto me. None came before me. Never will you be rejected by me even when you hurry, rush and are out of focus. I have compassion on you. Your page is clean – don’t condemn yourself but come before me, feast on my Word and I will lift you up the mountain with dancing feet.
Come into my embrace that I might comfort you – all is right. Focus on me and all else will be in perspective. Offer up your praises unto Jesus your Lord as they flow from your pencil, your heart, your tongue and your fullness in me. Be still and know that I am God and you are my daughter .Lift up clean hands before me, I have made them without blemish before the Father for praising Him. He delights in your openness and desires to fill and refill you.
Fear not, but trust as a babe. Open us your arms and heart, be vulnerable in His love. Allow healing to mend those crying, fearful parts as He recreates you, His daughter, His intended .Draw apart. Draw life from Jesus’ well that your heart and being may refresh itself and overflow to others, focus, not chaos; lifting love, not confusion, beauty out of ashes of consecration.
I loved you enough to die for you, let me live in and through you to touch others as you worship Me. My daughter, analyze not, nor dissect, but accept and let me love you through my Word.

In Philippians 3:8 Paul is speaking of considering everything a loss compared to the greatness of knowing Jesus Christ as his Lord, for whose sake he (Paul) has lost all things. Paul considers them (all things) rubbish, I believe some translations even say “dung”, and that Paul may “gain Christ”. I don’t think there is much more that could be said in the way of emphasis in this scripture.

1 Peter 4:11 talks about speaking the very words if God if we speak. It also talks about serving with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, may this be such an encouragement to believers, new and older – as it was to me. May they sense Your personal love, concern and tenderness as You draw them closer to You. May You equip them to go forth into their Jerusalem and share in Your most incredible Name!  AMEN.

A Look at Love Day

It is my prayer for each of us to experience a tsunami of love today and each day we live; in our giving and in our receiving. It is in the name of sweet Jesus I pray, Amen. From the heart, @[1044495398:2048:Avis] Happy Weekend!

Love could be chocolate and flowers……Love is giving. Love is a commitment. Love should be forever but often times it is not. Love is a choice. Let’s take a look at the “love chapter” from the best-selling book of all times:

1 Corinthians 13:4-15 (New King James Version)

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

WE place conditions on God’s love for us. It isn’t God placing conditions on His love. We become what we think other people think we are. We build barriers because we think we are inferior to them. We listen to the enemy. Most likely the other people weren’t thinking that about us to being with.
Love needs to be two way (returned) We need to give and receive. Sometimes we can’t receive because we feel unworthy.

1 John 3:18 (New King James Version)

18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Condemnation separates us from God and it is a LIE. Conviction is from the Holy Spirit and it is the truth gently nudging us to look.
We think “if I measure up then I’ll be lovable”. This is not unconditional love from God.
Some people cannot receive unconditional love and will lash out at you. We all have met them and have them in our lives. They don’t feel “worthy” so dump of those close to them who think they need unconditional love anyway. It is almost like they feel they must punish someone who dares to care.

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death…

We can and must still choose to love. When we love unconditionally we are showing the love God offers to us. What a great give to give to those who are in our lives. Love, based not on who they are or what they produce or give us in return but love offered unconditionally. A mirror of that wonderful love Jesus gifts us with if we will but receive. No strings attached, he died on that cross for you and for me while we were yet sinners. Could there ever be a greater love than this, the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate love gift given to us if we just reach out and accept Him.
This had given me something to look at this Valentine’s Day 2011 from a bit of a different perspective.
