Zig-Zag Fits and Starts

(From my new book, Afternoon Whispers from the Heart of God coming out in late October.)

You are Mine, Child of my heart. Some days we run together, others I coax you along as your path has zig-zag fits and starts. This is OK as you learn from your study of the flowers, bugs and bees in My meadow green. Yes, you learn more of your creator as you study My creation. Riots of color, texture and design to bless your senses with Me. I love and draw you, Child, whether we run or stroll, calling you closer your Savior beckons.

Staying close seems to be the key. The pace may vary but so long as we are holding tightly to Jesus’ hand we are going forward with Him.  Does He allow us to drop His hand and run off? Yes, but during those times He is always longing for us to come back and fellowship closely with Him. It becomes our loss to run off doing “our own thing” apart from the Master.

Song of Solomon 1:4 Amplified Bible Draw Me! We will run after you! The King brings me into his apartments! We will be glad and rejoice in You! We will recall {when we were favored with} your love, more fragrant than wine. The upright {are not offended at your choice but sincerely} love You.

Find a pen and be ready to write what the following scriptures are saying. The Lord can apply them to you, personally, today.

John 11:28

Ephesians 1:17-19

Song of Solomon 2:12

My Commitment:

Prayer: Dearest Jesus, thank You that the path you lead us on is full of Your beauty and filled with You. Relationship is the best thing you “invented” – ours with You and then ours with Your Body. Thank You that You give us a choice. We can follow, learn and grow in Your presence or we can run off. We are not “pets” but Children of the King. Please, please help us to be over comers and stay ever so close to You totally ignoring all distractions that come our way. In Your most powerful name, Jesus, AMEN.
