Refresh Us

Quiet gray
Morning clouds dipping
Coolness touching
Doe drinking bird bath
Streams dried
Refresh us
Our Jesus, raining down
Heaven’s revival
We thirst,
More of you our King
We pray

Heart of Obsidian Stone

I don't know the fire you've been through

To make your heart black glass

Don't know which heartaches tempered you

Or the trauma in your past

I only know the promise

Made by the faithful One

His words are true and powerful

If you call on God's only Son

He promised to take this heart of stone

And make it all brand new

To give you a heart of flesh

That will more than see you through

How can I be sharing this?

Because He's set me free'

And traded me a heart of flesh

For that obsidian stone in me.

Heart of Your Presence

(This one was written awhile back when my daily quiet times were simply not happening. I would have every intention.... "yes, I am going to sit with my Lord right after I get the wash going.... oh, I should do those dishes up and then I won't have that hanging over my head when I sit to read the Bible.....oh, no, Mick forgot something he needs at work and I can run it in to him......" Pretty soon, it would be bedtime and I would gasp realizing I never sat at the feet of my Lord.... I am blessed to say that I am back to having regular, first thing in the AM quiet times with Him, once again....but wanted to share my heart with you....)

O, my Jesus where have I gone

Away from the presence

Of Your heart

And the heart of Your presence?

Enable me to choose

Your best footpaths

To Your secret place

May I put aside the "good"

And pursue only You

Your presence and glory

To daily entwine my spirit

Within Yours

O, my Lord.....

Heart of Your Presence

O, my Jesus where have I gone

Away from the presence

Of Your heart

And the heart of Your presence?

Enable me to choose

Your best footpaths

To Your secret place

May I put aside the "good"

And pursue only You

Your presence and glory

To daily entwine my spirit

Within Yours

O, my Lord.....

The Blood Sacrifice

Now it's our time to rise the dead souls to everlasting Life...
The Blood Sacrifice
Covered with the robe of righteousness
His blood poured out for me
Sinless God, our Jesus man
Tortured, bled and died to free
His wounded side for those not there
His heart, broken for you , for me
Not one bone touched, nailed on that cross
Raised up on the splintery tree
Penalty paid for liberty
Priceless freedom He gave
We need but ask forgiveness now
Our creator came to save
His wounds overflowed
Jesus’ heart did break,
Pierced by satan’s Roman spear
Killed. Scarlet flowed. An earth erupting quake.
Scattered disciples, Mary wept.
They entombed and buried him.
The lamb of God, prefect One
He who knew no sin.
He’d restored the lame,
Given sight to the blind
Healed the sick,
Touched the demonized mind
And these life deeds
Love freely gave
And then was
Sentenced to His grave
Red garnet, scarlet, flowing down
For the crucifiers to see
Did death really win, that terrible day
Or did He die to set me free?

The Price Paid to Free Me

You didn't know me then, you didn't know me when

Your sin seemed fun, for a season

Then you began crying, dying, still defying

Choosing darkness without reason

Yet I knew you at Calvary

When I died upon that hill

You'd have a need for a Savior

And you need me still

You thudded to the bottom

Looked up, eyes open wide

You had crashed ever down

To the place you couldn't hide

In you, was a God-shaped void

You shoved all things in but Me

Not seeing the gift I died to give

Cruel-cross death on that tree

I wept that you fell, oh, so far

But rejoiced when you could see

All along that emptiness

Could only be filled by Me

Soon it was in perfect time

Your dulled eyes opened to see

Jesus really paid your price

That debt, to set you free

And now that God-shaped void

Was filled to overflowing,

You, completed child, righteously restored

Now growing in your knowing

Of how God came down

Facing torture on Calvary's tree

He loved so much, left so much

Sacrificed all to set you free.

Backslid Friend

You are concerned over your sister’s path and rightfully so. She needs ME but is blind. I will bring her again into the fullness of my love in time. Pray and move as I direct. Love her with my love.
What does it mean to love your friend? Does it mean allowing them to do what they choose and being silent or does it mean sharing God’s truth and His Word in love. Sometimes we need to risk the friendship to save the friend. Have you ever been in those circumstances where you knew you had to speak the truth even if it meant that person got angry and broke off the relationship? It never “feels good” to be there but it is so necessary. I cannot remember a single time when that friendship was ruptured for good when the Lord’s Word was gently applied to a loved one’s life, but it sure was scary going into the conversation. Sometimes the issue wasn’t resolved instantly either.
Proverbs 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.
Please take a pen and write down what the Holy Spirit is speaking to you through the following scriptures today:
Proverbs 10:12
James 5:16
Ezekiel 33:6
My Commitment:
Prayer: Lord, please convict my friend.  Draw her back to you as only you can. Help me to know when to be bold and share the truth in love and when to be quiet. Help me to pray always until the burden lifts. In Jesus’ most incredible name, AMEN

Are You Growing in the Lord Jesus Christ?

My daughter, in my timing you shall know. Are you growing? Allow Me to stretch you – I AM renewing and restoring and reviving you. I AM yours and you are Mine. I am stretching and do have a purpose and a plan. Fear not, but seek Me – you shall know soon and very soon. Meantime, rest in Me. I have given you My burden for My purpose. Shine Jesus. Grow as I stretch you – share the truth in love – stand your ground – stay steady – stand firm. Realize Me in you. Stay free, whom the Son has set free is free in deed. Selah.

Are there times when you wonder if you are growing at all or simply groaning? Do you wonder if you are being changed to become more like our Lord Jesus? We definitely have those times when we feel s-t-u-c-k and not doing much except getting “fatter” - soaking up more good teaching but wondering if it is changing us or just putting on padding. And then the Lord speaks in His still, small voice to our hearts.

Psalms 51:10 speaks of the work the Lord does within us – he is creating in us a clean heart and renewing a faithful spirit within us.

Let’s look into the Word and make some notes on how the following scriptures apply to us.

Isaiah 40:31 (I am always impressed with the fact that walking might be harder than running – with walking you can faint and with running you simply grow weary)

Psalm 23:3

Psalm 85:6

Psalm 80:18

My Commitment:

Prayer: Dear God, Most High, please refresh, restore and revive us that we may more fervently praise Your name and Your works and Your mercy and goodness! Grow us up in these areas too, we pray. In Jesus name, AMEN.

Fine Tuned Ears

Draw nigh unto Me and I will draw nigh unto you. When you’re feeling distanced from Me, sit at My feet – praise, worship and pour out your heart; then listen.

We sometimes find it hard to imagine that God, the very God who spoke the worlds into existence, is concerned about us. God is the God of caring; God is the God of relationship. The only ones who might be missing in this picture are us. He is always there and ready and waiting to enjoy our company. He delights in our worship and praise. To think that there are things we do which delight our Lord is amazing. It is sometimes difficult to fathom that He has time for us, and that He actually takes pleasure in our presence, yet He does. How can we best worship God? We start by listening. Can you hearing Him calling to you? The voice will not be loud, impatient or hesitant. His voice will be filled with love and care. Jesus actually wants to spend time with us and hear our hearts.

“…Then the priest said “Let us draw near to God here.” 1 Samuel 14:36

DIGGING DEEPER Read the following passages. What do the following scriptures speak to your spirit this afternoon? Spend some time and record God’s revelation.

Matthew 28:9

John 4:23

Revelation 1:17

My commitment:

Prayer: Oh, Lord, a healthy fear and respect gets things back into perspective – help us to truly worship You in spirit and truth! Help us to remember that for us, Your appointment book is never too full. Please help us to be responsive to Your drawing us ever closer. Only as we see You can we become more like You, and that is our true desire.

In Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.
